Hello,

I’ve have a couple of Subarus, a forrester and an outback diesel.

the outback I ran for 30,000 and it never puts foot wrong, it was a brilliant car.

I’ve now had a Volvo V70 on a 14 plate for the last almost 4 years. It’s also been an awesome car for the last 60,000 miles however it is getting old now and is currently on 93k. So I’m looking to maybe replace it.

A couple of my options are a 2015 diesel euro 6 outback with 38k with 7 speed auto, or a petrol outback.

I also tow a caravan with the Volvo so the Subaru would have to tow a 1.5t van.

anyone have any experience towing with a outback? What’s the auto box like for towing?

and what’s spare parts for the diesel like? I know they’ve not produced them for the last 7 years so I’m wondering if spares are becoming an issue?

cheers.

Don't tow myself, but here are just a few reviews that suggest it's Ok but not great with the CVT. If I was doing towing myself, I'd go for a Skoda diesel 4x4 like the karoq/octavia.  Friend of mine has just picked up a '17 plate Nissan x-trail diesel for pulling her horse trailer. 210 mm of ground clearance and lockable 4x4 option too.  Does the job really well. So few diesels on the market now being sold :(
