LUIGI-3 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 went to stealers today to get quote on some service parts- spark plugs, oil, oil filter, coolant etc which was pretty much same as any other car i had but the timing belt kit was quoted £ 373 with tax i saw genuine kits online for about £170. still lot tho
stants Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 It's the pulleys and idlers that cost the most. Belt its self isn't that expensive ! Is that a subaru dealer ?
LUIGI-3 Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 well its a general dealer for all cars- like local GSF car parts sort of thing
stants Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Ah ok, prices seem to vary wildly i nearly fell over when i contacted my local subaru garage. So shopping around i got everything including fitting for the price some people wanted for the parts 1
Gambit Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I was going to say Martin for a full kit I'm sure he said he could do me it for about £350 + fitting :D
stants Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Exactly who i used :-) that and major service came in just shy of 800 bits :O Still doesnt have to be done now for 4 years
Gambit Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I just wish he was closer to me 76 miles one way is a pain :( But still cheaper then anyone local to me
stants Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Yeah i know not as far for me but worth it. Theres a couple of places in bradford but i have my reservations. Plus i get to have an exciting trip to medowhall ! Speaking of sheff Anyone heard from ash ? Seem to have lost a load of people since the server issue boo
Gambit Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 No I was on about him the other day, not sure if he's had some problems or just fed up but he's not been on here since the 12th of last month. But if he's sold up or doesn't want to be RC anymore I will have a word with Martin and see if he will take it over seeing as he was letting people go to his garage.
stants Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Suppose things get busy in his line of work this time of year. Either that or i'll have a go lol. Misses allowing ! Problem with our region is it's size. Where abouts is gem located as she was on about coming to one
Gambit Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Yeah you would be fine for it I think to be fair. Gem lives in Rotherham not sure where though.
stants Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Anyway i don't wanna force anyone out of a job or assume stuff, he did say the next meet would most likely be in jan due to christmas and everything else
Gambit Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Thats fine I have no problem with that but, it is meant to be an active roll on the forums but I know life can get in the way. And I like to think I'm easy going so will give him the benefit of the doubt for now before I call council meeting :D
