This unit is currently on ebay:

I'm assuming it would fit in my outback where the cubby hole cover is located at the top centre of my dash:

Is anybody able to advise how easy this would be to fit and any additional wiring I'd need? I currently have the factory fitted 6cd changer / cassette combo in place.

I've asked the seller if any cables come with it - just waiting for a response.

Any help appreciated as always  :)

I've read that it isn't that easy as you need the whole wiring loom that goes with it. I'd half looked into this idea myself but have elected to go down the route of replacing the stereo for a double din unit i can have nav on.

Cheers

Alan

And i`m also not sure, i`ll take a pic of mine so`s you know exactly what it replaces. The nav DVD unit is fitted inside the glove box top right hand side.

You could do with obtaining a workshp manual, it should show the wiring etc.

If you did fit the navigation unit it has the mileage info and service info and a whole lot more.

Have you checked his other items?.........he has a very nice set of what look like leather or half leather seats that would look good in yours.

Id like to do somthing like this too. Looks pretty awseom though, im not half bad with electrics do shouldnt be too dificult once funds allow ofc.

There's a YouTube video showing how to remove the little cubby hole and vents. Only clipped in. Check for the loom.

I have seen someone has made a double din unit fit in the cubby hole. Leaves the factory unit in though.

Cheers
