  1. Very nice Ernie! Bet you hated being out in that... 😄
  2. Finally got to try the tyres out on snow yesterday - and I have to say I was impressed. No problems up a fairly long steep hill and cornering was fine as long as I was sensible. I did give the vehicle dynamics a test by ragging around one bend but only on an open space and not the road - some quality power sliding fun!
  3. All done - luckily my friendly neighbourhood Subaru dealer sorted both replacement bulbs out in less than 20 minutes for £22 including VAT. Plus I got to ogle some of their BRZs in their stock - win!
  4. Evening all - so I have lost one bulb (driver's side) on my 2012 XV from the front position lights. And of course it's the little bulb connection tucked in at the edge of the engine housing where you need doll's hands to get to it. Manual suggests removing the cover inside the wheel arch and going in from behind so to speak. It all seems a bit of a faff in my opinion - anyone had experience changing these bulbs, hints and tips etc before I trudge off to Subaru to change a £3.50 part?
  5. Ah good spot GGMan but I bought them back in April. Wish I'd have waited now 😂
  6. I took the plunge with the CrossClimate+ tyres - not cheap but wow has it made a difference already. Even better handling in the wet, roll on winter and some snow...
  7. Hi all, I just upgraded my Volvo C70 interior lights to LEDs and very pleased with the result. Just cheapo Chinese ones from eBay but have made a massive difference to the map, rear passenger and number plate illumination. I have tried looking for the same for my 2012 XV (manual, diesel) to get it looking a bit fancier. The bulbs are a bit smaller than the Volvo ones - undoing the light domes has been easy enough but I can't seem to find any LED bulbs. Anyone out there that has done this to their XV and able to nudge me in the right direction? PS Where's the bl**dy snow got to, I want to go out and give my XV a proper run 😊
  8. Thanks all, looked at cheaper options but these do look the best bet for all year round driving.
  9. Hi all - so I took the plunge and am now the proud owner of a 2012 2.0d manual XV - and I have to say that I am very pleased with it! Thinking about winter coming along and whilst I don't want to put winter tyres on specifically, does anyone have recommended tyres that are good all year round, good in the wet and fuel economy etc? Plus any horror stories or brands to stay away from? Here's my new toy 😁 And I also found these tyres, has anyone used these on their XV?
