  1. Hi Sue, I can see that your post is over 14 month old but I have just seen the post and have joined subaruownersclub today. The problem you have is, I would say, identical to my own. Did you find a solution? My Legacy is also an 04 and I've had this problem for years. I've seen lots of explanations mostly from the US and the solution offered over there is change the starter motor ………… I’m certain it’s not a starter motor problem, It’s as you say a immobiliser problem. To-date I don’t have a solution but have also just seen the post from chevrons2 re and although not the same problem but I would hazard a guess of a faulty relay ………………… my legacy almost always starts immediately in my garage but not on the road where the success of an immediate start is probably less than 1 in 10! If I find that chevrons2 experience can solve my problems I will drop another post! regards
