  1. That’s great advice thank you. On the subject of the Outback 3.6 is it as rare in the UK as it looks? Due to this rarity it it a mad idea? 120k Full Subaru history. many thanks again
  2. Having had another autotrader search, what about this? Best (or worst) of both worlds? I just found a great car on Auto Trader: if the link doesn’t work, outback 2011 3.6?!?
  3. Thanks so much for your advice. This is the theme that I have been reading all over the internet. I think that I will pass on this car and any of its ilk. Maybe time to go back to petrol. with honest thanks, charles.
  4. Good afternoon, I have jumped over from the legacy forum we’re people were so generous with advice. These forums are such an amazing resource. I firstly contemplated a spec B but finding one is a real nightmare in an estate form. The reason for the B was I need a 4x4 and an estate and I thought one of those would be fun. However, with head ruling heart and a real need to find a car I have widened the 4x4 estate search. I have found a 2014 Outback from what looks like a reputable dealer (former owner of a Subaru franchise) it’s a diesel and looks to have good spec. The internet is full of people decrying the diesel. Is it that bad? Or is it like googling your health symptoms and finding that everything will cause your death! Could anyone have a quick look and offer expert advice? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274589906675 many many thanks in advance. Charles.
  5. Good afternoon. I am looking for a spec B estate to replace my Golf GTI and discovery in one tidy package. I need an estate as I require the load lugging capability. Is there anything available that anyone knows about? many thanks, Charles.
  6. Many thanks. It’s quite difficult to find something within a reasonable distance. I run a boarding school so getting out is very difficult. Will keep on the forum. with regards, charles.
  7. This is fantastic information thank you. I posted (stupidly) the same question above. Please forgive not reading other posts before making my own! I am in the same boat and looking avidly for an estate (maybe saloon) reading what has been written, is this in the sweet spot? 2005 Subaru Legacy 3.0 R Spec B/6 Speed Manual cheap tax/ EZ30 118k and I think expensive at offers around 4100. Two previous owners and very local to me. Claims solid history in dark blue (estate, no tow bar) Any thoughts? With thanks, Charles.
  8. Hello. Is there any chance of some more information? I am looking at the moment. thanks, charles.
  9. Hello. Please could someone help? I have sold my discovery and am looking for a Subaru to take its place. However, I have not had one for a number of years and am very rusty on the models could some one advise? I have on my list - Outback 3.0RN 2006 Legacy 2.5SE 2007 Outback 2.0d 2009 (newer shape) Legacy 2.5 ISE Nav plus 2010 Outback 2.0d 2010 All are around 3500 - 4000 depending on mileage. I am good with assessing condition and can make a price judgement re mileage but, what’s the best model. I am fine with either an outback or a Legacy as mild off road is all that’s required. I just don’t know where to start on reliability of the various engines. Thanks very much for helping. with regards, Charles.
