  1. Hi, Thought I'd post this on the general forum, to get the widest spread of expertise. A few months ago (August 23) the clutch on my Subaru XV went at about 83k miles. Which isn't great, but fairly par for the course. We took the car to Spain, where it failed again at around 88k miles. We got the car fixed in Spain at a Subaru garage in Granada. It took 2 months to get the parts and cost 2200 euros! The car was eventually shipped back to us by green flag. Now, a few hundred miles later, the clutch is slipping again. We can't return it to the garage to be checked out, because its in Spain! What the **** can be causing this?! There's clearly something fundametally wrong which is causing the clutches to fail which has been missed by two garages. Thanks for any help. Recommendations of good subaru mechanics in the central belt of Scotland welcome.
  2. Unfortunately it was done in Granada in Spain while we were on holiday! Whole thing has been a nightmare. Second clutch in about 4000 miles. First one was an aftermarket one fitted by a local garage, which has gone back to manufacturer. Clutch failed again when we were on holiday. New clutch (OEM) fitted by subaru garage in Granada. Car shipped home. Now the pedal is sticking.
  3. Hi, I've just had the clutch replaced on my 2015 xv diesel. A few times the clutch pedal has not come up after a gear change and have had to pop it back up with my toe. Most of the time it works okay, this just happens occasionally. Any ideas? Matt
  4. Hi, Just wondering if anyone can point me at an official service interval (and what's covered at each respective mileage) for my 2015 XV diesel? Cheers, Matt
  5. Just a quick update. I ordered a Forester wheel off eBay, using the tool above to check the sizes matched (thanks again, Andy!) and test fitted and test drove it today. It fits bang on and will do the job perfectly. So this might be an option for folk looking to get a cheap full sized spare or a set of wheels to put winter tyres on. Matt
  6. That's great, thanks a lot, Andy! 😀
  7. Hi, I really like my XV. It's a manual diesel 2015 and my first Subaru. I drive up north a lot and it's a decent car for long journeys. I get around 46 to 50 mpg, depending on whether I'm in a hurry or not! There's no ULEZ zone in Edinburgh just now, but it is coming. Probably be enforced in a couple of years or so. My 15 plate is not ULEZ compliant, but the 65 plates are. Matt
  8. Hi folks, I'm looking for a full sized spare for my 2015 XV. It doesn't have to match, appearance wise, just do the job. XV wheels are rare and expensive on eBay, and I'm wondering if a Forester wheel might work? There doesn't seem to be a shortage of them and they are considerably cheaper. For example, I've seen a 2012 forester wheel with the right size tyre. Does anyone know if this might fit? Thanks for any info, and apologies if this has been asked before. Matt PS - here's a pic of me enjoying the snow at Ben Lawers a couple of weeks ago! 😁
