  1. Thanks for all of your interest, but it is still a mystery!!! Earwig
  2. I have run the 2006 version and then subsequently a later version which I bought from Ebay and was probably pirated. I do not think that it is on the software/DVD otherwise there would surely be some reference to it in the Sat Nav booklet. Nothing comes up on the Sat Nav screen, just an audible warning. earwig
  3. `I own a 2004 Subaru Outback RN. It has a "built in" speed warning device which appears to be incorporated into the Sat Nav system. As the vehicle approaches a posted speed limit a beeping sound is emitted that gets louder and faster according to your road speed above the posted limit. If you approach the limit at the correct speed it remains silent but warns you as above if you are over. There is no reference to the system in any of the information booklets supplied with the vehicle including the Sat Nav booklet. Do any of you know if this is a standard system fitted by Subaru or an after market system. If the latter do you know where it can be obtained as I am thinking of purchasing another vehicle and would very much like this system fitted to it? Any advice would be much appreciated. earwig
  4. Hi Guys. I own a 2004 Subaru Outback RN. I recently purchased diagnostic fault code reader as I have a minor problem that I hope the reader will help me find. I expected to find the diagnostic plugin socket for the vehicle under the dash on the drivers side but have been unable to locate it. I have found the touch pad to the far right under the dash. Can any body help with the location of the diagnostic socket? Thanks in anticipation Earwig
  5. Subaru Outback 3 litre RN 2004 Starting problem. Can anyone help with a longstanding problem? The vehicle is fitted with a factory fitted Sigma (Thatcham Catagory 1) alarm as standard. The alarm does all that it is supposed to and the key fobs have new batteries. The vehicle ALWAYS starts on being unlocked and started immediately. However if left unlocked (whilst buying petrol for instance) it sometimes fails to start. I use standard procedure and put they key in ignition lock, press the button on key fob and usually you can hear a faint click as the immobiliser disengages. Turning the key further and engaging the starter results in engine starting, but not always. I then repeatedly press the button on fob and try starting or lock and unlock the vehicle and eventually it starts and has always started but I am concerned that one time it won’t. 12 months ago my local garage downloaded the faults on the vehicles computer and erased them. These apparently were low battery warnings. The vehicle never failed to start after that. However the vehicles battery slowly discharges over a period of a week/ten days and when you unlock it and start it a single beep noise occurs which I associate with a low battery warning. (This beep never occurs at any other time). Four months ago the garage checked the battery again. It was fine. It is receiving a full charge from the alternator and with everything switched off the battery discharge rate is within tolerable limits. Where do I go from here?
