Hi everyone, my name is Simon and I am new to the forum. I recently bought a outback 2010 2.0 diesel br engine, it had a dpf issue which I thought would be an easy fix, so I put dpf cleaner in and took her for a long run with no joy. I then went to my mechanic, tried forced regen, that didn't work so I had a dpf delete and remap done, then I had to replace the turbo as it was shot, couldn't get the turbo off so had to cut egr off to get access to the turbo bolts. Egr valve and refurbished turbo fitted, car started but only for a few seconds, immobilizer kicked in. So I have reset the isr alarm system, changed batteries in fobs and I have tried to recode the keys but nothing, really don't know what to try now, would really appreciate some advice on this, can I bypass isr/ alarm/ immobilizer? Thank you
Hello Simon welcome to the forum

I'll add idiots who drive round with their fog light on when there is no fog.
I once pulled up long side a car with their fog light on and called out Dave! Dave! is that you?
He said "Sorry mate I'm not Dave"
"Oh it was hard to tell with this fog" I say
"its not Foggy" He said
"Then why do you have your fog lights on?" I asked
Luckily he had a sense of humour and we both laughed as he turned them off.
I was taught that if you can't see 3 street lamps ahead in fog then you need the fog light on, otherwise you don't need it.
Nice humor

That era Subaru diesels are prone to failure so I'd be very wary.

Hello everyone! I'm kinda new here. i look forward to giving and receiving QAULITY ADVICE (lol) Thanks for creating this awesome forum, threads and people are amazing. I am looking to get a used Crosstrek, starting from 2015. I wanted to ask the community to check if there is anything I should be looking out for while doing my inspection.
Things I will be looking out for are
coolant or oil leads
Weird noises coming from the engine
check the transmission for slips and jolt
verify all the electronics are working properly
What else should I consider? Any suggestions? Thanks.
