Okay, so I have test driven my first scooby :D The good points: Very comfy Very fast Smooth power delivery Interior in great condition Bucket seats in great condition and comfortable Sportswagon boot has lots of space The air scoop on the bonnet is great to look at as you drive along!!! The negatives: Water marks on the seats and condensation round the window sills suggests some leaky and warn out seals. Does anyone know how easy it is to replace these? Some interior trim did show signs of wear and tear, which is perfectly understandable on a 10 year old motor. How interchangeable is the trim on a scooby? The brakes were pretty poor, how cheap/easy is it to upgrade the brakes? The biggest problem is that it is a Cat D right off. The garage owner did the repairs himself 8 years ago as an approved repairer but was still a bit vague about the details. It's putting me off what was otherwise a lovely car. Any advice etc always greatfully received ;) I am now hooked on Scooby. The performance was great.

On a more positive note chaps I'm thinking of speaking to the guys at Torque GT. I live in Plymouth and they are relatively local to me. Has anyone had any experience of these guys. I'm starting to think tomorrows phone call will go as well as today's and I don't want to be messed around. Thinking Torque GT can find me a nice tidy sportswagon!!

Annoyingly I phoned the garage to tell them I was on my way and they said they were too busy today with car problems with the weather. It's an MOT and service garage that sells cars as more of a side bit. He wants me to call at 9am tomorrow to arrange to go over tomorrow before lunch :(

Cheers Jay, you are absolutely right. I would love the car but the wife will be there and she is a lot more level headed when it comes to this sort of thing so she will reign me in!

It does say that the garage will sell it with a new MOT and 6 months tax as well as a full service. They don't mention any guarantees or anything so I will be asking about that and definitely negotiating the price if the cambelt hasn't been done yet. Thanks for the tips guys ;)

Cheers Gambit, a very helpful read and arms me with questions. As for the car its completely stock. Exhaust, brakes, alloys and interior are completely stock WRX kit which excites me as I can upgrade it exactly how I'd like it. Previous owner had the car 8 years and it appears well looked after from the pictures. And thanks guys for the welcome. I used to own an FTO and found the owners club and forum great for info and advice but also for club meets and car runs etc so I'm hoping the csr turns out to be great and I can really enjoy it.

Don't know on the service history or cambelt, that info is a little sketchy at best. I've wanted a scooby for a while and this one appears to tick all the boxes

Hi guys, I live in Plymouth and a local garage has a 2003 WRX estate, in blue, 60,000 miles for £3,395. I'm going for a test drive next week but have never owned an impreza before. Is there anything I should be looking out for on the test drive specific to imprezas?? I'm hoping it's as good as it looks. It has all the space the wife wants and all the tuning potential I want. Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated.
