  1. In Autocar 28.2.2024 they Road Tested the Crosstrek 2.0i E-Boxer Touring. It stated that the e-motor is 16bhp who is very different from the 120bhp in the first video above. Then I realised that the UK car is not plug-in hybrid just a "mild hybrid". It looks like this gets a much smaller motor. Frustrating and I can't understand why we aren't getting the better option or why they are bothering with building two versions.
  2. When I was having sensor issues on my 2008 diesel I went to a diesel specialist in Milton K (from memory AW Diesel). They didn't find the issue but we're good enough to direct me to a place with a rolling road (from memory Marlin Motor engineers). They were able to diagnose it as the MAF. The location probably doesn't help you but it might be worth finding a rolling road and/or diesel specialist. They might be able to clean or delete the DPF.
  3. I've been lurking on some the EV conversion forums and asking questions about how I could convert my Legacy diesel into an EV. One the solutions would be to use the hybrid gearbox from a later model XV (or Crosstrek). The trick is to use both MG1 and MG2 to drive the car. Damien explains it using a Lexus transmission I have seen various figures for the total power output but ~220bhp would be good. So I've been looking around for sources of these hybrid gearboxes. 1. It would be helpful to have the gearbox codes. 2. Also, I don't know if the other Subaru hybrids use the same gearbox. 3. I'm assuming that the XV hybrid transmission is about the same size as the ICE one and so about the same size as other Subaru gearboxes. Hopefully fitting it to the Legacy won't be the hard part. Like all EV conversions, battery packing will be the hard part.
  4. I'm just envious of the huge garage 🙂
  5. I had a Galant GTi 2.0 16V in the late 90's, that went like stink. Gearbox was the weak spot which is why I didn't go down the Lancer Evo route.
  6. Hello all, New to this forum but not to Subarus, I had an Impreza Sport from 1998 to 2011 and a Legacy 2.0D estate (FL) to the present day. I've been on several other mailing lists and forums.
