  1. popped into my local Subaru yesterday, a PAK check/update is £45 & takes about an hour. the car has been fine all week, so will keep an eye on it a little longer.
  2. taken my car out today, started with a local trip then took it further with sitting in traffic etc, all seems to be good, no hesitation. still going to talk to my garage just to see what they used.
  3. it is a STP full fuel system cleaner, its one i always use, never get on too well with Redex myself. I am not driving it until i talk to the garage, i will keep you posted but i have a feeling its a plug, either gapped wrong, a new one failing or wrong temperature.
  4. i don't know.
  5. thanks for your reply, I'm currently running higher grade unleaded with a fuel system cleaner in this tank, almost time to fill up again. I'm guessing it isn't right as its just started doing it. will get it back to the garage & see what they say, hoping its a bad/wrong temperature plug or the timing sightly out.
  6. should add that i can drive around it & it seems to pull well above those revs.
  7. hi guys, recently bought a 2006 Legacy 2.0RE, drove it home 90miles & did a few little journeys with no problems, nice & smooth & pulls nicely through the revs. it went in to have drive belts, cam belt, water pump & spark plugs yesterday, drove home & back to work again fine this morning. had to do a hospital run today for a family member & on the way home it has started to hesitate at 2k-2.5k rpm, do you think this is new plug breaking down? got my code reader on it & nothing is flagging up. thanks in advance.
  8. did you get the Pure Highway type thing? after a bit of researching you need to do a JDM upgrade with postage this all comes in at £250 & consists a new climate control module & facia.
  9. just search blank keys, i got this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Forester-Impreza-Legacy-2-BUTTON-REMOTE-KEY-FOB-CASE-blank-blade-BADGE-/262430485556?hash=item3d1a136c34:g:r5EAAOSwNKVXMd8z
  10. Evening, I am hoping to get a mk4 Legacy very soon, problem I am having is I love my DAB & iPod & the standard stereos are not up to the job. I have been looking for a facia plate but all i can find is plates with dial AC systems, all the Legacy's i am finding have the climate control built onto the bottom of the stereo. Obviously I have not managed to take the stereo out during a test drive to see how it is all plumbed in, what i am thinking is can you just cut the climate control off the bottom of the stereo system & adapt the facia module to fit above it? does the climate control wiring go up into the stereo section? is there an external amp mounted behind the dash? I have found this...but unfortunately I have no idea what they are going on about. http://www.plutanium.cz/babca/cs/2300-jak-dostat-mp3-do-naseho-subaru Have any of you guys managed to modify their stereo's & how did you go about doing it, I did a search with little luck.
  11. went to have a look at a Legacy today in Bedfordshire, had 113k miles I asked the dealer if the cam belt had been changed & the salesman's mate butted in & said he took the car in & said the previous owners were very particular & he expects it was done, i answered him & with the last 4 services were done by Halfords & only 2 of the tyres matched so they can not be too particular. he didn't reply. still first car i have seen, its set the mark, the rear was sagging too & was very squeaky.
  12. Evening SOC, a couple of years ago i sold my SG Forester, probably the biggest car sale regret I have had. in that time i had a Mitsubishi L200 K74 which I needed for some countryside activities that side of things has now slowed down & I have sold my L200. I am now looking for returning to the world of Subaru with a '05 Legacy Estate...I just need to find one, hopefully heres where my new exciting adventure starts again. (it also seems that in that time i have picked up an emoji addiction)
  13. few bits, 6 x tyres, 4 x matching Bridgestones, K&N panel filter, rear SLS shocks & springs (i shock is pooped). Idle Control Valve

  15. any offers or swaps for anything that will go on an mk4 L200?
  16. any offers or swaps for anything that will go on an mk4 L200?
  17. £25 posted, K&N Panel filter P/N 33-2154 DM me if interested. Heres the K&N link with all the info, I had it fitted to my 2003 Forester 2.0L non turbo (not listed on the site) so check the dimensions to see if it matches yours.

  19. just signing up, doesn't look as nice as SOC :-)
  20. hello, welcome to SOC, also from Essex/Suffolk/Cambs border, recently sold my Forester after 2 years of ownership.
  21. after 2 years of ownership my SG 2.0X has now gone, fantastic introduction to AWD driving & with the fortunate opportunity of taking it off road i have experienced it at its best. I now own a Mitsubishi L200 4Life pickup, reason for departing with the Forester is because my work is slowly going to kill it as i carry a fare amount of weight. Thank you for everybody's advice & chats, you've made a good welcoming Forum. When i get round to clearing out my garage i should have a few Forester parts to sell, I will post up when i know…Can anybody post on the clubs sale page?
  22. Neutral Safety Switch has been fitted for a few days, took 30mins to fit & seems to have done the job, so all appears to be good. :D Thanks for everybody's help & suggestions particularly stants…appreciate it! I am in the process of trading it in for a Mitsubishi L200 as i feel that i will kill my Forester with the work i am doing, It has been a good 2 years & a fantastic introduction to AWD & playtime in the muddy stuff. I will be doing the change this coming saturday.
  23. rather strange, since i have been considering changing vehicles I changed my petrol to standard 95 RON (was using BP higher grade which i think is 97) & my CEL rarely comes on now. I have the new NSS which I will be changing this evening/tomorrow (just because i have the new one really).
  24. my other toy when the Forester isn't quite up to the job…to date i have had the quad stuck once & Forester has never been stuck.
  25. ha ha! brilliant, love the Ranger photo. I drive my Forester like a truck, normally cruise about 10mph below the stated speed limits anyway & have never given it a good thrashing…so I've basically been easing myself into truck mode :-) The Forester has been a damn good vehicle & comfy too
