What have you done to your Subaru today ?
unlocked it, cleaned the Idle Control Valve, started it, reset engine light, turned off, locked it, walked away. ;)

idle air control valve
just done my ICV, i had no need for a gasket. just popped the solenoid out & gave it a good spray with carb & throttle cleaner, will see over the following week if it has done the job. the solenoid was caked in carbon, so it should make a difference.

Headlight Cleanup
noticed my headlight where hazing at the top so had a bash with TCut, I'm too cheap to buy the proper £20 something headlight kit, Im pretty happy with the result & it only took me 10mins. Before After

Forester load cover
i believe so, I had to buy one from Subaru as everything got snapped up instantly on ebay. should be fine if its SG, all Subaru was worried about was getting the correct colour.

Lifting a Forester
had everything fitted for a few weeks now & done a little off roading & finding the bumpy stuff, unfortunately no mud Ive not rubbed or scrubbed yet so all is good, normal road driving is fine, the Pedders kit on the rear is certainly stiffer & you can feel the difference on some road surfaces, but they absorb larger bumps very well. Heres a few pics i took today. think my next purchase is going to be some extra wheels for the winter months with some aggressive off road tyres something like this. http://www.4x4tyres.co.uk/205-70-15/205-70-15-insa-turbo-special-track-mud-terrain-p-649.html

idle air control valve
How did you get on with this? I'm looking at cleaning out my ICV as i keep getting engine light come on identifying that, Idle isn't too bad but could be better. also when i clean out my K&N i will not bother re-oiling it.

Lifting a Forester
here's the after pics, on a shoot tomorrow so will see how it gets on off road & it should help the new suspension settle down too. Will see how it sits & how the tyres wear over the next few weeks & then look at getting a full geometry done, think i need to get some camber bolts for the rear. FRONT REAR

New tyre time need advise,
i like Falken Tyres & am currently favouring them as they have great mileage & grip, have used Uniroyals & Nokian in the past with good experiences

just had a play with my new DL319 & really impressed, much better than my old unit. simulated a fault by unplugging the air box sensor, ID'd & reset it fine, the live info is pretty interesting. only thing it has trouble with is the vehicle info section, it just says incompatible which I'm taking it thats because its a SG (my other unit did read the VIN) It could just need a firmware update but not too worried about it.

Lifting a Forester
had everything fitted today, bit of a balls up on my part…front is raised & looks fine, however I changed the SLS shocks on the rear but kept the standard springs & the !Removed! is dragging. spoke to Pedders & the confirmed my suspicions, the standard springs to go with SLS shocks are a softer spring, so i have ordered the Pedders springs to match the non-SLS shocks. So a couple more weeks & the rear will be a sensible height & will not look like i have a tonne in the boot. mechanic that fitted it took about 1.5 hours to fit the spacers & replace the rear shocks & said its a nice kit.

underseat subwoofers
my mate sticks them in his BMW's & love them. They not as good as a boot sub in a box option but they certainly fill the gap & helps with the instal.

iPod/iPhone connector or dab radio
i personally am a fan of DAB & changed the stereo in my Forester for a DAB head unit. So i would favour the DAB option. if you have a 3.5mm jack you can get a double adaptor so you could have both? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gold-3-5mm-Headphone-Splitter-Jack-Male-to-2-Dual-Female-Cable-lead-audio-Y-/370783456201?pt=UK_CE_MP3Access_RL&hash=item56546a8bc9
