  1. Even reconfigured the head unit to match... My next niggle was on the body work. When giving the car it's first proper clean in my ownership, I felt considerable amounts of what I thought to be overspray on the panels near the wheels... looks like the wheels had a paintjob, whilst still on the car :( I tried my best with hand polishes and clay, but ended up talking to Mike @ Deeper Detail who's based in East Yorkshire - and he took my car for a 3 day detail. (full thread here if you're into that sort of thing: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=297421 ) Needless to say, Mike nailed it and the overspray was no more. Next up was a re-badge of the rear. Before: After: Also sorted decals for the fog covers: At about the one month mark of ownership, I decided to take the car to Scoobyclinic for a health check and a dyno run.
  2. Once split, they had a good clean and then were resealed properly. Voila: I still wasn't happy though, the lights were really badly scratched (I think they had been left face down on the floor when detangod...) so got some new ones, and some new bulbs: Also sorted some new plates with proper spacing, and a grill/pink badges: Before: After: Next up the eBay fairies delivered me some clocks and a convertor from a JDM import: Before: After:
  3. Hi All, as promised in my newbie post - here's a summary of my progress to date. I bought the car in November 2012, it was the third Blobeye STI I'd been to look at. This one wasn't strictly for sale, however the previous owner got talking to me on Scoobynet and eventually we decided that the car needed to be mine :) This is a picture of the car the evening I collected it: Drive home was uneventful, but fun. I'd already bought a double-din head unit, so that was my first job on day #1: Picked up some other vital supplies: My first niggle with the car was the headlights. They had been detango'd in the past, and sprayed black - but not sealed up particularly well as demonstrated here: With that in mind, out they came... ...and in they went:
  4. Cheers for trying fella, much appreciate it. I'll speak to my Missus - she bought the tickets and I've got no idea what she paid. We've got some friends that may want to come - so they can have my "normal" ticket!
  5. Thanks Gents :) Any idea what the maximum image quantity is when making a post? I typed out a huge build thread type thing but I'm struggling to segment it down to get all the pictures in!
  6. Thanks Gambit, I decided against track time at Japfest as my last experience of track time at a "show" was at Trax last year, and was a little hairy!
  7. Thanks Gambit, if there's some cash somewhere that I need to put forward to make up the difference - I can do that no worries :) Let me know what I need to do.
  8. I'm up for it, might be a push for my to get to RH for 17:30, but I'll do my best!
  9. Hi All, I'm a newbie but looking to attend Japfest with a club this year. My partner sorted us tickets for my Christmas present, so I don't need to pay up - but can I register to attend with the club?
  10. Hi All, after my local owners club/forum closed due to inactivity - I needed to fill my web browsing routine with another club. Didn't take long to find this place, so here I go! Here's my Subaru, a 2005 STI with 48k miles. I've had the car since November 2012 and have spent a fair amount of time/love/money on the car since. I'll sort out a summary of my progress so far in a build thread when I get half an hour or so. :) Got plenty of plans for this year, and hoping to get to some shows to see some other cars and meet some people. :)
