Thanks for the reply i thought as much. So my drive shafts are good what about the process of cheacking the front diff for damage? Or is it the same ? Knocking and wining turning corners?

Hi all a quick question upon checking the play in my front drive shaft i noticed play. I can move mine in a side ways movent not much ie in and out of the housing. I have No a very very little play in up and down direction. Is this normal? Im pritty sure it has to have a little play due to heat and so on. Any advice or pointer will be good.

Thanx for the quick reply Tlag is there any spercific grese to use on the drive shafts? I have accses to a log of grease as im a crane operator or will it be a subaru special?

Hi please help im a new owner of a impreza 2000 turbo wagon. I have a decent knowlage of the motor vehicle but owning a subaru is a new thing. Any way bought the car with 150000 miles on the clock with a v good servicehistory. It has no mods aprt from a single decat pipe and in vgood condition but now and again i hear a clucking noise from the front passenger wheel area. If i aply the brakes it goes i put it down to a caliper sticking. But it sounds like its not. It dosent rattle or bump when over speed bumps or rough ground. All bushings look in all good order and roll bar. Im stuck please help.

Hi all a new member and a first time owner of a 2000 turbo wagon which im pleased with. But i have problem with a strange noise comming from the from passenger wheel area. A clicking noise while driving. Its intermitent so it comes and goes. But when i apply the brake it goes. Plus a knocking noise from same area again intermitent. Very strange. Im pritty clued up on cars had various turbos in my time but a subaru is a diffrent ball game. Hope some one can give me pointers would be awsome.
