Hello again Another problem ... I have the keyless entry remote and want to program it. I have already changed the pin on car and can stop the alarm using keypad after entering with my 2nd key, which has transponder only and no remote. The key starts the car. New keyless remote fob arrived today and so attempting to re programme original key with remote, and the new fob. I am using this process: Arm and disarm using working radio key *17856*91*2# Press both radio keys in turn. But ... The light on the keypad starts flashing fast after I start putting in the numbers, so I abort the process. (Afraid of losing the programming of the one remote that I have) Am I going wrong somewhere or should I just persist? Should I have put in my PIN before starting? All help much appreciated.

Thanks for this link - T have printed out the User Operating Instructions which is far more comprehensive than the booklet that came with the car. Now bidding for Subaru keys and fobs.

Sorry, I did not make it clear ... I have a fob with a key. Only 1 button, fob almost the size of a matchbox. I'm a dunce with cars but did manage yesterday to put in a new pin, without knowing the old pin. Speed test in Chertsey cut a key without door opening remote, but with transponder, which manually opens the door and starts ignition, but sets off alarm when starting. At least I can now silence alarm on keypad but would really like a second key with remote opening. Subaru quoted £280 for the key, £60 to program it, plus vat.

Hi there, I am new owner of 2005 Forester ... Brilliant car. But need a spare single button remote. Cannot see anything on ebay and don't want to pay £360+ to dealer. Any suggestions?
