  1. Hi again. The issue with the wagon is sorted and turned out to be where the crank balancer pulley was loose it was that loose the crank sprocket had enough play to cause the woodruff key to **** itself and be like 1.5teeth out on timing. Striagt piped the back box when it was all running right and details it.
  2. Hi savage. Nice to see your still on here. I have been down the unit today and funny enough I have just fitted some phase 2 yellows and used a adaper kit to fit them to the rails. Has the wrong fuel rails to on the car and you was right the injectors was wrongfully as being a e3 ecu it uses yellows and tdo4. Still don't seem right bud did seem to pull a little better but not much. Going to sort small manifold and down pipe blows next with new gaskets and replacement tdo4. I have the right throttle body on the car currently but it's adapted. The tps looks right and the idle control valve is also right. I am more being persuaded to something wrong the timing or cam sprockets being wrong.
  3. Hi all please bare with me as I try to explain this the best I can. I bought my 99 wagon with what the previous owner described as slight hesitation. Now it should have the v5/6 engine in it being 1999 but has a v4 from like 96/97 as original engine popped. It Should have the idle control valve on throttle body Wich it does but it has the v4 inlet with the idle control valve hole on the right but blanked of with a random plate. Also the v5/6 throttle body don't bolt up to the v4 inlet so Someone has made a adapter plate for the v5/6 original throttle body to fit the v4 inlet. The looms are slightly different and I can see the single plug coolant sensor on the cross over pipe is diconnected but it has the 3 or 2 pin Coolant sensor plugged in. All temp gauges work and the car doesn't log any fault codes. The issues I am having.... the car does not like to drive straight away from cold and splutters and feels like it has a slight misfire/timing issue and hessitates bad very bad on hill from cold. But ok when up to temp. cold start is very slow in getting up to the fast idle (1200) for the warm up period and takes about 10/15 seconds from starting the car when for it to slowly creep up to the (1200) and then for it to drop once it's at it's operating temp (slightly warmed up). Then will idle spot on and Rev nice and never stalls. When it's warmed up your driving normally it sometimes pops back through the air box and does pop a lot at certain revs like it's mapped with pops and bangs but isn't. Boosts at 0.9 but it don't go like it should and is not as quick as it should be. Feels like it's down on power a lot. Struggles to go up hill and even if you floor the throttle it don't respond or build up speed so have to drop it down a gear and then will get a move on. Also being wrong inlet it has grey injectors and should be yellow on my e3 ecu. I have some to fit wich I will do soon but doubt this causing all my issues. I am wondering if the v4 cam sprockets and sensor reading gaps are different to the v5/6 cam sprockets. causing my symptoms. Hard to explain but have a double read and let us know what you think. New plugs, fuel filter, air filter, fuel pump, maf, oil change, front mount removed and stand top mount fitted. Few pics
  4. Sorry guys late reply. Luke replying now and to say the least there's been a lot gone on since rob got the s202 standard. Now running 425 with syvecs and md321 Turbo, 8 maps and anti lag. Much more Rob also blew up the wagon and got bottom end knock with it running the 354bhp and also from the block going and putting metal fragments around the oil system it broke the vf34 we put on from new. So We put in a brand new ej207 block from icp, the vf34 from the s202 and done couple more bits to it and then a fresh map for new block and made 350ish rob knows the figures. I have also got myself my 1st scoob a UK2000 wagon Turbo.standard but with couple issues and only a straight through down pipe, centre section to a jap can. Ive done couple bits so far like 35mm lowering, robs old gra rot alloys, crystal side lights, splitter, sti seats, couple others bits. Will do a separate post for my issue I am having with my wagon.
  5. Hi Guys, we are back! Got the S202 in our possesion now and just been on the track at Japfest. This was to rest her handling and then from there decided on mods as she is held back alot. So here we go again one year later. Lets dance ;)
  6. back from the dead ;). my brother decided to not fork out on his wagon and went for the option of getting a sti and build our way up we had a look around but no luck. then found a mega blob eye running some serious power was up for 10k think it was on a gt30 and like 485bhp loads of carbon fiber parts and on rotas with a lot of purple items might now be on here now . we have been looking on the bay for ages and cam across a bugeye s202 imported from japan and is spot on just awaiting paper work to be sorted then a remap on uk fuel and then to see how that goes :D
  7. Yeah we was not treated as customers from them which my brother cant stand. told my brother about the ecu's and that he could have 2 maps one for every day and the other for anti lag and launch control and was interested till the price was mentioned also the fact he has just paid for his ecuteck licenced to map again. still looking into whats the best option weather to go with a slightly bigger turbo like rcm420 and looking for a complete sti gearbox and running gear if anyone no's of a good condition one that's not been ragged to fook :D
  8. I can 100% recommend the rcm stuff and service and the postal is crazy fast usually within 2 days. we have had bad experience with Scooby clinic as for a really odd reason. we wanted to get the car mapped with them and dyno run but tried to inform us to change our new upgrades and they wanted to do the work like we did not no what we was doing so gave up with them. might have caught them on a bad day tho but will still have a look at their turbos. any ideas on how much a alcertek ecu is and does it come with a base map or would we just plug it in just before we map it. cheers
  9. will be doing the lot next as made the call to rogerclark today and it will be the price of another car for the next mods just lloking into it a bit more. Looking at a rcm 400 billet 58mm ceramic turbo new short block sti with forge internals good for 450bhp. anyone have any tips or experience with this turbo
  10. Cheers glad you like it. took me a while to figure out how to !Removed! upload them
  11. Finally got a build thread done with the help of savage bulldogs. have missed a couple bit like the boost gauge install which my bro said really helped for the week driving of boost. the big wide rotas was whet he sent back for the more practical 7.5" rotas and suites nice and are very light to me. the silver civic in the pic is what we smashed and done 13.7 at 99mph. still have a load more pics if people would like any more of parts and any help.
  12. Hi and welcome to the build of my bro's 2001 Subaru buyeye wagon wrx 2.0t (ej205). He got the car with 114k on the clock and run sweet as a nut with the body work being the only let down but for a 13y old car it was not to bad. He only wanted to do a couple bits to it like new alloys panel filter back box and sound system. It basically went further and we done a lot more like disk and pads, lowered, full exhaust, big sound system, dump valve and this we thought was it until a trip to Santa pod fast show. whilst there we got a remap from REDBITZ well we thought we did but recently found out that they !Removed! us over and did not put any map on it as was recently told and shown buy jolly green monster Simon. After getting back from pod my bro wanted to invest a little and get a bit more power from the car so we made a call to rogerclark and went with the following vf34 sti mani with pink 550cc injectors and tumbler delete kit rcm 11mm head stud kit rcm head gaskets rcm complete gasket kit rcm fuel pump rcm stage 1 lightened fly wheel exedy organic clutch three bond ngk stage 1 spark plugs samco intake pipe samco coolant hoses and oil hoses Jdm sti inter cooler and y pipe k&n typhoon induction kit with standard cold feed with added bend full service Then my bro had to stay away from boost for a week until it was mapped at surrey rolling road with Simon jolly green monster and produced a nice 279.4 at the wheels 354.4 at the flywheel. Another trip was made to the japshow at santa pod and went up the strip a 4 times and met 2 nice guys with a blob eye wagon full decat system and remap at 261whp and a classic wagon standard. we raced the blob eye and beat him by about half a length at 14.7secs which was poor and then our second run against a ep3 and smashed him and got a 13.7 at 99mph well 98.75. from this we was not to happy for time and money spent so have decided to take it a bit further. we are now seriously looking at taking it to the 400whp mark as my bro has just got a power machine fiat sequento abath for a run around whilst we do the upgrades. here are our pics from the stage we done the car.
  13. Hi savage made a call to rodegrclarke today as my bro is serious abut the 400whp now and just got a fiat sequento abath for a run around and we will be getting it Saturday all the way to Coventry from the isle of wight. Rodgerclark service is amazing and have helped us a fair whack. we have previously spoke to mike and was happy with his service and today spoke to tim whos help was also gr8 and has advised us no to run that sort of power on our ej205 122k block with new pistons and crank and rods it wouldn't do to bad but will eventually give in and pointed us in the way of getting a sti short block completed that will run 400whp ok and will be new. they are looking into it for us as for the turbo, sti tmi, exhaust, injectors, as these have just been purchased also what will be the best option for a gearbox which they think a sti 6 will be ok. going to try and sort a thread out now of how its gone so far so and tips on uploading the pics cheers luke
  14. we used simon (jolly green monster) at surrey rolling road and was £600 for map ecutek licence and rolling road print out (354.4) at flywheel ;)
  15. lukililo and on 360 forza 4, horizon,fifa,
  16. I am just on my laptop and tried to create a thread and at the bottom it had add image but it failed to load it and then tried at the top of the page like in this box im typing now just above it has a green box and if the mouse goes over it it says image that's how I have tried may sound a bit dumb. Just had a big talk with my bro and he wants the massive kick in your seat and would like to hit the 450bhp mark at the wheels and 500 would be spot on if we can do this on our budget and would be a achievement for him and me to hit 110mph at 1/4mile if we can so has given me the job of finding out what is needed. he basically has said 5k and where power comes he wants reliability so a strong box and props shafts and drive shafts. we have looked at crower cams before we done the other mods as was directed by rcm that doing the mods we have just done would be a better power gain for the same amount of cash we was willing to spend on the cams. with his figure in mind we know we need either a sti 6 speed box or a straight cut box at least 1st and 2nd. and when I say stroker kit it was just a example as I think we would go for the strongest but best value for money in each part like your rods, pistons, crank, bearings, and all gaskets. he likes the idea of cams and heads as they will be taken out anyway. would his vf34 be good for 400bhp at the wheels or would he need bigger also what about his 2.25" exhaust would this be ok for the 400 or to restrictive and the jdm sti top mount whice we have herd is good for 400bhp but not sure if that's at the wheels or flywheel. any way if you could give us you opinion that would be good and will also be giving rodgerclarke a call in the morning
  17. I really want to up load some pics in a thread for you guys to have a look. can you tell me step by step or how to use photo bucket just created a account and it says I have 2gb free so will I have to pay
  18. Savage your spot on fella we had ours mapped by jgm and it was mapped to 354.4 at the flywheel and like I said the boost is at 1.6bar so if what you say is correct and factory boost Is 0.7 to 0.9 then jgm has upped the boost. we did ask what it would be capable and he said that with the mods we done and the vf34 that the 3rd best they have had in the uk and said a new turbo has paid of well. Also spoke to my bro the other day and showed him the lateral performance website and he said he would be happy to go to that far as he wants more power but don't want to blow the engine or box. I am going to look deep into the best stroker kits for the buck out there I no I can look at rodgerclark, cosworth, mahle, and lateral p but do you no any others that are any good and not rip of prices. do you think being our second time taking the heads to fit the new parts it would be worth port and p the head and a set of road cams as the cams will be coming out any way. cheers again for your help
  19. @Fonzey is the 315.6bhp at the wheels
  20. savage I thought so and do you no what the factory boost is set to iv herd its 1.5 bar but noo 100% on this. just wondering as we are on 1.6bar and want to no if our mapper has left it at standard boost levels. with our current set up what would you recommend we do for us to hit the 300 bhp mark
  21. also I am correct that you have to up the boost via ecu and then will need another remap
  22. cheers savage im trying to upload pics using the add image on the thread builder but no luck and I have never used photo bucket but would like the pics to be visible in the thread. we herd from a couple Subaru people like Rodgerclarke and jolly green monster the boxes are ok for 350bhp max and then **** starts happening and even worse if your doing launches. we was setting of at pod at like 3000 to 4000 revs as seem to be the most effective but never done it before so did not have a good rpm to start with so was a learning curve. we do all the work our selfs as im a mechanic and me bro knows his basic way around a engine but we like to come on here for the help of you guys and some people have tried and tested this stuff and can give good help. would a swap from his 5 speed to sti 6 speed be a simple straight swap ie can we use his gear linkage and are the flanges for the prop shafts the same or would we need the sti prop shaft. will have a look at the lateralperformance web site now as he will have some spare cas as selling his other bugeye wagon
  23. what do reckon we could do for it to hit the 300 bhp mark and do you no of anywhere that sell uprated gear boxes and diffs
  24. Good to hear @Tlag was t the jap show. we got 13.7secs at 99mph well 98.75 on my brothers 2nd run. we met 2 nice lads up there one with a blob eye and the other a classic. good couple of lads we raced the blob eye twice and this is why my bro wants more out of his as because the blob eye has had a full decat system just the up pipe left and a blow of vale and a remap and made 261bhp at the wheels. my bro has had crap loads done to it producing 279.4 at wheels 354.4 at flywheel. and 1st run was my brothers 1st run up the strip same as the guy in the blob eye they never done it before. both had a **** start and my bro was a slight bit behind till about half way and took him and finished with about half a cars length in front. and the 2nd time they race each other guy in the blob eye jumped the lights but we still could not catch him and was behind about half a cars length the whole way this is why my bro wants more as was a tad disappointed for the time and money put in. not sure if I have told you the mods but we done a lot new vf34 turbo, full exhaust, typhoon induction, jdm sti intercooler, sti mani with pink injectors and tumbler delete kit, remap, new head gaskets new oil and filter, lightened fly wheel and exedy organic clutch and sti mounts. we no our reaction to the green light is crucial but both was same apart from the false start and for the money put in we thought we would at least have a car and a half in length. in the day both of them did 4 runs 2 against each other and my bro smashed a ep3 civic and this is where his 13.7 time came from best of his runs. I asked him what sort of power he would like and he said at least the 300bhp mark but would like to no if he can get uprated gearbox and diff as when doing the launces at the strip something will eventually give and he don't want this worrie just a nice whack of power but the car to hold up strong. the car is at 1.6bar of boost so about 21psi if my maths is correct so room for more boost but will the engine take it (wa mapped by jolly green monster at surrey rolling road) .we will hopfully be gong to the japshow finale if your gonna be there Tlag come have a ganders, also I did try and make a build thread but don't no how to add the images
  25. Hi lads not sure if you will see this now as been a while since this post but will post a new thread now as just got back from pod on the weekend and not too happy with the time for the money spent so will be looking for more bhp. cheers luke and rob
