should be some pics up soon guys, fitted a matte black bonnet, alloy as the sliver one was steel, the alloy one was dog rough hence the matte black. also fitted an OMP Trecento suede steering wheel and NRG boss kit, ironic as thats where this thread started. in the mean time Godzilla the car that started the thread was written off :( and replaced with a 52d blue wagon pics to follow

Im having an sti8 bottom end fitted and are looking to map to 350 while on 5spd gear box, however thats the max for 440 injectors and there are limited and expensive options for side feed, would it be possible to change it to top feed by changing the intake mani etc?
-
Thanks, should be sorted I messed a few up hopefully you can see them now, it's taking shape nicely I'm not sure what else I can do visually so I'm saving for some Bride bucket seats and have a set of purple harnesses on the way, just need to figure how to fit them. At the moment the piston slap is making me use it less and it's currently off to have a wing welded into the rear arch and a rear quarter re spray
-
few upto date pics for you guys one with the Katakana jap sticker in the window is the most recent, just saving for a forged 2.0 build now and some proper bucket seats and harnesses

as above most subarus have a bottom end failure at some point I imagine, if youre going to put more power through it be sure to get it serviced regularly i go every 4k or less, just dont be a chav and thrash it and put some fresh oil through it, many use millars or castrol and it will see you well for a long time, i know a guy with a standard bug has had it 7 years only ever replaced a power steering pump, serviced regularly and he still does 130 on track day, look after it is basically what im getting at dont expect big power and performance from a neglected engine!

Mines down as a GL despite being a WRX, saved about £2000 on insurance but mine doesnt even get used most days as i take the bus to work and dont go anywhere else lol, probably best declaring if youre guna tear about on the daily but ive never had an issue
-
yep, had some on my non turbo, good upgrade to classics and yeah they didnt change pcd till hawk eye
-
Im running td05, not much life left in it though, decat, tmic, standard weak **** injectors, 380 greys on v2, remapped via z4-esl board to 262bhp, id recommend all the above mods, and then if youre looking for more power try a td05 or a decent vf or newer equivalent then just get map updated, just keep on top of that bottom end
-
speaking off does anyone know how many hangers are on a v2 exhaust so i can get them ordered? thanks
-
yeah still going well, come across the occasional issue but ive been going over to martin at sheffield as well lately, my issue at the moment is keping exhaust smell out so i'll be back for an exhaust check and poly hangers as my decat is rattling now the old ones have gone a bit saggy lol, im going to get a 3d royal silver grill and spray it 406 i think as well, the 2.0 sport is now the cheap run around haha

UPDATES: Got a small reg plate and fitted my glow in the dark Jap plate to the front, got a debadged grill sprayed it 406 and fitted that too, pics this weekend hopefully! Small 2p size rust patch forming on the rear arch so im forking £300 over to have the rear quarter sprayed and wax injected into the skins. Fitted my Japenese Kei alloys, forged lightweight purple goodness, replaced the manifold with a black one and sorted, to an extent the ile issue, still creepes slightly but no were near as bad, learnt my lesson now if it aint broke dont !Removed! tinker with it! I also got a dog called Poppy

Never had a problem with him personally, engine swapped my old sport. did 7ft of welding and a clutch for next to nothing, gave my mum loads of free parts to get it looking good, sold me my WRX wagon, did a full rebuild after scooby clinic blew it up and left me with a 900 quid hole in my wallet for the sake of a 6 quid coolant temp sensor, i also used duncam graham who mapped my car at GR in Swinton and didnt take 3 days and blow my car up twice unlike the clinic, its all personal preference. Tony charges very little yet people expect miracles, if you want a brand new 20 year old car, go to clinic and fork over 5 grand, if you want to simply keep yours running pay a tenth of that and tony will keep in running into oblivion, youre not paying for new parts unless you specify and are willing to put the extra money in, if a used part fails he recovers the car and goes out of his way to rectify it. I think what we are seeing are people buying nails, expecting alot for sod all money and when confronted with the issues are happy to have their 'PERFORMANCE CAR OF UPTO 20 YEARS OF AGE' bodged to keep it running and expecting it to go like the clappers and never fail, if you agree to have it bodged to keep it moving, the ideal thing to do is to drive it carefully until you can afford a proper fix, most of the cars ive seen while being down at Rotherham Scoobies have been thrashed or cared for very poorly, im willing to pay for mine, just saying.
-
good news! ish, i got my sti spoilers painted and on the car they look great, took my car down to scooby clinic to be remapped and they blew it up, heater matrix went, took the HG and cooling system with it, ~£840 later no map and a broken car but i got a new heater matrix and a walbro fuel pump at least... took it down to Rotherham scoobies and had a bottom end refresh new cosworth cambelt and HG and got the car remapped by duncan graham pulling 262bhp which isnt bad for a car built with 217bhp standard, new apexi induction kit, new DV as im now MAFless, new alloy rad and hoses, will have pics soon, but now im facing dodgy idle, keeps idling at 1200 when warm so i have adjusted thje iacv and will clean it this weekend hopefully its nothing serious. other than that the car is well
-
just took it off the standard tmic, good job i did as the seal on the alloy was corroded anyway so i replaced it
-
sadly i have work commitments, so its guna be another time :( got my alloy i/c on as well finally! had to use the stock y pipe though as the other didnt fit very well, stock is thinner but has a wider opening to the turbo itself at least, took for a test and was leaking boost so i addressed that then had an idle CEL light on that went when revved, tightened everything to within in an inch of its life and touch wood seems to have solved the issue, not road tested properly yet just down the back roads and you can notice the difference the alloy one makes!

I managed to source two sti spoilers, 65 for top and 80 for bottom, so not too bad compared to the 100 a piece i was willing to pay, also got my alloys done in a metallic black/purple colour ready to go on; and sprayed and fitted my larger scoops, used a little left over mesh to help protect the i/c, should be putting my larger alloy one on tomorrow hopefully its just a little stubborn
