I need to replace the u shaped subframe on my 2001 wrx. I also need to replace the section/bar that the front two bolts at the front of the subframe screw into, does someone know what that part is called, or can someone post a picture of this area/part....thanks.

Just a quick one, can someone tell me for certain, when I flash someone (2001 Impreza wrx), as well as my main beam flashing should my dipped beam flash as well? I have a WRX where someone has bodged the wiring in order to fit some different headlights. Initially it went to the garage because the passenger side dipped light and main beam light were [considerably] brighter than the driver side ones. That has now been solved, but the mechanic was unsure as to whether all four lights should flash when you flash someone?

How about the front subframe? (u shaped bit). No rust or welding?

I checked my headlights last night and found that when the headlights are on, they are very bright and white. But when I put the main beam on ALL front lights (headlights AND main beam) dull down to a yellowish colour. ANY clues as to why they would do that? All ideas appreciated.

Someone must know of a decent set of nice white bulbs to replace the existing yellow ones on my WRX. Looked on Halfords but none of them get very good reviews.

Can anyone recommend some bulb upgrades for my headlights, spot lights, side lights. My current ones are a cr4ppy yellowy colour. I am wanting some of those that are really white. But having looked at many reviews I am none the wiser. All ideas gratefully received.

Can anyone shed any light (pardon the pun) on a problem I have with the headlights on my wrx (2001), they have been changed (by a previous owner) from the original round ones to the ones that have about 3 separate lights in the cluster. The normal headlights work, but the 'dazzle' beam doesn't (in either light). So I cannot 'flash' people or put the dazzle on at night. All other lights work fine. All ideas are gratefully received.

I am going to replace the spark plugs on my 2001 WRX as I am doing the rocker gaskets anyway. So my question is how many spark plugs do they have (is it the standard 4) and what type is best or will standard Halfords ones do?

I am in need of a replacement front sub-frame for my 2001 WRX. Anybody know of anyone selling one or where to get a decent used one.

I looked at them but they seem a but on the expensive side. Not far off Subaru dealer prices.

I am going to do the rocker cover gaskets on my WRX and am after some genuine gasket sets. Is there many places which sell genuine ones (without paying Subaru prices)? Thanks.

Found the gaskets, any idea on how long it should take me.. is it a straight forward switch over?

You cannot hear it when you're inside the car with the door shut. It seems to be coming from the left hand section of the engine (so drivers side). No worse under load, starts loud then becomes a little quieter when the engine has been running for a few minutes. The car sounds as it should when you're stood behind it, but when you walk round to the engine area it sounds like the exhaust is blowing.

My WRX is making a sound from the engine area, it is a similar sound you hear when the your exhaust develops a 'blow', but it's not the exhaust. It is quite loud on start up then quietens a little, but only a little. Any ideas?

The same person is selling the right hand gasket and left hand gasket, but only the righthand gasket comes with spark plug seals, is that correct or should I get seals with the lefthand gasket as well?
