  1. Ah so it's reasonably standard then for that? All a learning curve for me at the mo. Thanks for that :)
  2. Saw a silver blob eye (think wrx) in whitehouse road today around 2pm. Was a couple in the car I think, he waved and flashed and I waved back, was in the Blue bugeye sti. Anyone on here?
  3. No it had the belt replaced yesterday before I brought it home. I dunno how best to describe it, just feels like it doesn't enjoy going at slow speed more reversing and turning very tightly like a 90 degree bend, just feels like it's a little lumpy whilst doing that. The rest of the time it's absolutely spot on but just very tight slow turning it feels like it's almost trying to push on rather than turn? Think that's the best way I can describe really.
  4. Hello all, now only picked the car up yesterday so it is all very new to me indeed but thought if ask this as having never owned a 4wd before it does feel odd to me but if it's normal then it's something I'll get used to. The car at slow speeds whilst manouvering around (say reversing off driveway on lock into the road or doing a 3 point turn) feels like it's almost fighting itself as your making the movement? I know the shocks all knock slightly at slow speed so not totally sure if that will affect it but just wondering if it's because of it being 4wd that it's the diffs just not completely enjoying it (is it something they all do) or if mine may have an underlying issue? Hopefully getting the car to have a full once over this coming week but just thought id ask in advance if it's a common trait of this type of car. Sorry if it's a complete novice question but I've only ever had either fwd or rwd before and the rwd's had a similar feel when had the LSD fitted but other than that I don't have much to compare to. It's a 52 plate bugeye sti if it makes any difference. Cheers for any info :)
  5. Mate it was a pain in the !Removed! of a day and all over the place. I am back up that way at some point for work related business as he was almost opposite the Mercedes dealers so when the time arises I'll let you know. Be the only Scoob in the car park so you'll know who's who lol.
  6. Well I bought it. It's home after a somewhat eventful day that makes me surprised I continued to buy it (no fault of the car) but by the time things came to light the deal had been done. Nothing serious really, just things that should've been taken care of before I bought it but weren't and just made for a very long winded day waiting around for things to be sorted. Still all was sorted and then we were bought dinner for the inconvenience so can't knock that really. The knock appears to be the starting of the shocks going after more looking into it so the money saved off purchase price will be going into suspension after a little while. Still other than that the car is so solid, really impressed on the 85 mile journey home. Very pleased with it. Will get some pics up of it soon (once cleaned again) to show the beast off lol :)
  7. Oh I know it's not something that can be sorted without hearing it in the flesh that's for sure but if it sounds a reasonable thought then that's fine. Just trying to see if I'm being led down the path with the suggestion if you see what I mean. Appreciate your reply and hope your having a very Merry Christmas :)
  8. Yeah I've seen them aroud that price so that's not really an issue but wasn't totally sure if they do suffer from that on the front. I know the rears and shocks tend to suffer but haven't seen much in the way for reference on the front end? It's something I can get done at work for about £20 so the fittings not so much of an issue just trying to see if what I'm being told is believable?
  9. Just after a little pre Christmas Scooby advice if at all possible? The bugeye I'm looking at hopefully getting Saturday with this minor knock it has, has been suggested it looks like the front top mounts that could be playing up. I have had a little look into it and yes they have a few references but just checking on this part really. The guy has offered me another £120 off the price to take those into account so does that sound plausible? Being very new to them still just seeing if this is reasonable as most mounts I've found are all uprated and cost a fair amount. Any advice or info appreciated. Merry Christmas & a Happy new year in advance to all our fellow subaru lovers :)
  10. Needed a couple of bits doing, battery as was absolutely dead, not so important boot cable sorting as wouldn't pop and then a minor clunk from the front at slow speed which we found after getting car started off jump pack. It's not bad but it's just things that should be sorted before someone buys it as it's not as it should be.
  11. Oh yes mate, I always go on the if it's not meant to be something will stop it from happening. I just do really like this car which is why I'm holding out for this one last chance. If the goods don't come up in Saturday then I will be knocking this one on the head and start off looking again. Just really love the look of the bugeye with the prodrive kit. Only time will tell I guess.
  12. No worries mate, sounds good to me. I just hope it's all sorted out this time and that I can collect it and be on my way with it rather than without this time. Yeah you'll be my "first member meet up" too
  13. Well, not really surprised at the moment but called today to double check about going to collect the car today (after a very thorough and longer chat organising it Saturday) and was given the usual been really busy and snowed under and haven't even looked at the car yet. :( Am a little frustrated to say the least but the absolute final chance has been given to sort it out and make it 100% ready for collection on Saturday. I won't be getting too excited about it this time or holding my breath but I just hope this time he keeps to his word. Also feel more discount is now in order for the messing me around 3 times. We shall see what happens I suppose. At this rate I'm doubting I'll own a scoob in 2014 lol
  14. Not a problem at all, was very nice of you to offer though :)
  15. I'm really sorry I missed this post, not intentional at all. Well I am supposed to now be looking Monday pm sometime, hopefully between 4.30-5pm as he's supposed to be rectifying the things that were my main concerns and hopefully coming up with a deal after completed. I certainly wouldn't say no to some experienced advice on the impreza that's for sure but don't want to take up your spare time. Also don't know if this was in response to hopefully going yesterday (didn't happen after my chat with him as he said he'd sort the issues) and has been moved to Monday. I would be very grateful even if just a listen to it and so on to say yay or nay but like I say it's oy if your free and don't mind doing so. Was a very nice offer ;)
  16. It hopefully will be a lovely car, as long as the mechanicals are ok I can work on the bodywork over time and get it back to a former glory. (Will take some doing I'll be honest) I hadn't thought about asking for a bow, don't go giving me ideas lol :D
  17. Does anyone recognise it's reg before I buy it (incase any major horror stories or they know the previous owner) think iirc it's WO52CFD. Just out of curiosity :)
  18. Ah damn.. Don't think of that. Oh well I guess it'll have to be a slightly early Christmas pressure then and just spare the wrapping ;)
  19. Yes indeed. As long as all is done in time for collection then I'll be a very happy man :)
  20. Well had another conversation with Hurst this morning and a totally different experience than last weekend. Maybe he was having an off day? Either way, he is sorting out the issues on the car for me, the little knock and battery replacement and boot catch opening and he is fully prepping the car for hopeful collection Monday afternoon/evening. Also got a nice amount off the car. However did discuss that if the issues weren't sorted if either be looking for more off or walk away and all sounded good from both ends. So as of Monday I am hopefully going to be the proud owner of a 52 plate STI prodrive bugeye! :D
  21. That's how I feel really, still think hopefully going again this weekend and if all goes well may well come home with it. It is nice, bit rough round the edges but nothing horrendous and after all it is a 12y/o car so unless it's a proper pride and joy thing (will be mine) or a garage trailer queen it'll have some marks.
  22. Thanks for the input guys, all helpful. Yes it is, cheeky but that's the car I'm hoping to buy so if I do the picture will change to one of my own :)
  23. Well I'm not saying he's a bad bloke at all but I did find the service a little less than helpful. Kept us waiting an hour and a half when we had an appointment for 12.30, at least he did turn up but we were left for an hour with ok contact at all. Then all was going well but he spent lots of time on his phone when with us and when we were going to look at the second car which we had said about told us to be quick as he had other things to do. I was an am interested in the car as I asked if we were in a position to do a deal that day if we went for it which he wasn't keen on doing. It's nothing major and I get it's only £6k compared to some of the cars being around the £7,8,9 and upwards but to me it's a lot of money and would've felt happier with a little more customer care. I was only asking to see if it was him having an "off day" or I he is usually like that. Again nothing against him, seemed a nice guy but just trying to get others insight really :)
  24. Thanks Matt. Just trying to see how he's been with sales / enquiries and to just gather if he comes across honest and so on really. Appreciate that buddy :)
  25. Evening all, just thought I'd ask if anyone has dealt or bought from Hurst cars and what their experience was and if anyone would recommend or say to steer clear? I know it'll all be personal preference and opinions but at least may be able to see what the overall dealings seem to be like. This is Hurst cars, Bedford with the owner Max. Any help / advice appreciated chaps and chappets :)
