Excellent. Not from your neck of the woods but I'm guessing you'd be going on heads of valleys road. I'll be joining the road from Dowlais around 10ish probably with Haydnp as well. So if you see us just follow on behind

If you're coming from Cardiff way and heading up A470 towards Merthyr I'll be going that way from Llantrisant. Keep an eye out for a 64 plate blue STI and it'll probably be me, just tag on behind if you're not sure of the way.

  3. Nice one Dan. Sorry if im a bit slow posting on this thread, been in work, sleep, work mode last few days. Already an extra one. Looking forward to it. I can recommend the all day breakfast. Not the cheapest place for grub but definitely worth it and decent coffee too.

  4. I've got a flyer somewhere for the cafe. Had to get postcode for AA man when my bike had a flat tyre there back in the summer. I'll dig it out and post it on here if I find it.

  5. Hi Haydn, been thinking about trying to arrange a South Wales meet myself. DanPow posted something about a local meet as well. I did think of somewhere that might be a suitable venue up near Abergavenny so it could be combined with a decent drive on some nice roads. I'm going there for a ride on the bike today so if the owner is about I'll ask him if he'd have any objections to a bunch of car enthusiasts meeting up there (it's a bikers cafe) and at least that would be a possible venue. Problem is there only seems to be 3 of us on here showing any interest at the moment so I'm thinking we would probably need a bit more interest. I'm a bit old to be hanging around supermarket car parks and getting chased off by the police, if that sort of thing still goes on nowadays :) . If you've got any better ideas or know anyone else interested or if there's already a local meet going on let me know. I don't want to hijack anyone else's plans.

  6. Just had a thought of a good meeting place. Steel Horse Cafe near Usk and Abergavenny. Its got a decent car park. It's a bikers cafe so should be car friendly. Think it's open in the evenings and it's licensed. And, the girls serving there usually wear denim shorts. Hope my mrs doesn't read this ;) . Just need more people now

  7. Get the led light bars..had some on my old cherokee and they are bright as the sun itself easy to fit and wire up and being led they don't strain the alt much

Like the idea of LED's. The car has got 125000 miles on it and as far as I can tell the original alternator so might be a better idea than the traditional Cibie Oscar type spots. I was looking at the light bars but wasn't sure how bright they'd be. Cheers.

  8. I've got an old Legacy 2.5 that I've been using as a runabout for a little while now and was thinking of using it for a couple of night event road rallies. All the car needs to be eligible is a current MOT and be able to pass scrutineering which hopefully it should. What I could do with though is some decent lights, since the events are held on unlit mountain roads and country lanes. Just wondered if anyone on here could recommend any decent spot or driving lights. I had a quick look on Demon Tweeks and they seem to vary a fair bit in price. I don't really want to spend more than a few hundred all in for lights fixtures and loom. At least not to start with. Or possibly upgrade the headlight units themselves. Any reccomendations anyone?

  9. I've got Termignoni exhausts on the Ducati so it does sound nice, especially when it's popping on the overrun.

I totally agree BoozyDave. It's more about hazard awareness and driving to limit points. On public roads if you can't stop before both sides of the road converge at the vanishing point you're going too fast. Sometimes that's way over the speed limit and sometimes it's well below. Which is where this zero tolerance bulls**t becomes more about money making than applying common sense and safety.
