  1. Purchased some new clocks and seems to have helped dramatically,I still get the cel but not half as much as I used to. Obviously there's still an issue so il shall plod on and somehow figure out where the he'll this code is coming from. I van only presume it's a wiring issue of some form because if I've changed the engine and ecu and I'm still getting the same fault then somethings not right somewhere
  2. Right i had a little fiddle over the weekend at tried a 2mm restrictor and still have boost spike, on dual carriageway it was holding about 0.9bar but is still spiking when giving it the beans (hits about 1.1ish bar). So I dropped it to 1mm restrictor and it still spikes but doesn't hit fuel cut but it's only running about 0.7bar. So my next question is I could fit a 1.5mm restrictor but it's the actual immediate spike I get which causes the fuel cut when giving full throttle? Surely there must be a way of keeping a steady 0.9bar without it dropping off and also spiking above?
  3. It's just a pain trying to constantly monitor boost and feather the throttle, I can feel that it's quick but it's so annoying not being able to put your foot down! Il look at sorting the restrictor pill this week and hopefully sort the issue but out of curiosity where do the boost controllers fit, always wondered. Do they just sit between turbo and actuator and ditch the boost solenoid and vent pipe to induction
  4. Lovely cheers bud il have a crack at getting that sorted and let you know how I get on
  5. Any ideas of where is best to pick one up and what size is recommended or is it try and see what happens?
  6. All the vac pipes are brand new but there was no restrictor pill? Take it that's gonna be my problem then
  7. Yep done that twice and tried a spare one but still no change
  8. Yeah your probably right with the bov, I'm struggling to justify spending money on parts I might not necessarily need hence fitting a boost controller to lower it a bit to stop fuel cut tell I can send it in to be looked at, I'm constantly watching the boost guage whilst feathering the throttle it's killing me not being able to drive it normally
  9. I know it's an ongoing battle with it, I've just replaced the engine and replaced and checked every hose 10 times over, nothing seems to be split. Would a faulty bov cause an issue with boost?
  10. Looking at fitting a manual boost controller on my 94 wrx as a temporary measure to stop my overboost until I free up the funds to get the issue sorted properly. Hoping you guys can tell me best way of fitment. I understand this is not the answer to my issue of overboost but cannot afford to have it looked at the moment so just want to manage boost until I can resolve the overboost
  11. It's got 3 port and top hose goes to turbo housing, middle to wastegate and bottom to air intake. Then I have from the boost pressure sensor to a t piece with one hose to boost guage and other to top of inlet manifold is that correct? Yep cleaned it out and tried a spare too with still no joy.
  12. Haha oops cheers bud still a bit new to it all
  13. Just looked at rocker gasket it definitely needs doing but I do have a new one to go with it
  14. Power steering pump leak I meant sorry
  15. Mileage is 130km, there's a bit of history with it like clutch and a few other bits and bobs, the oil looked ok when I dropped it, could do with passenger rocker gasket doing, not essential but whilst it's out. Timing belt looks ok but would definitely change it whilst it's out. All in all its an ok motor, just needs oil cleaning off it from power steering pump and a good check over but came out of my car running.
  16. There's loads of little bits so just ask if you need anything...you never know
  17. It's a 94 jdm wrx by the way
  18. I think it makes the boost solenoid click as well but not 100% sure?
  19. Very strange idle issue,it happened one morning and won't go away since then. Basically when I start the car and ifs idling as normal I hear a click somewhere under the dash near all the relays etc near bonnet release, as soon as it clicks the revs jump up but it's getting more frequent and very very annoying!! Any ideas anyone???
  20. My cel comes on for code 24 on overrun at low revs but if I dip the clutch and let the revs go below 900rpm it goes off so my driving styles changed until I figure it out
  21. Mine overboost like mad then hits fuel cut, I've had it on actuated boost for about 6 weeks at 0.5bar. Piped it all back up now but still overboost so till I find the funds to have it looked at I'm going to get a manual boost controller and hopefully be able to control the boost a bit better, whether that will actually work I'm not sure but I'm sure someone on here will let me know. I'm gonna pop the clocks back in about half hour when I can be bothered getting off the sofa haha.
  22. Hi mate cheers for the info, I've just replaced the circuit board on the back of the clocks with one from a spare I have knocking about so iv just got to fit it back in and see what happens, to be honest it's running tons better since I changed the ecu, I don't get any running issues at all but it still chucks the code up so hopefully this might be just what's needed to sort it, if not I suppose I'm back to the drawing board haha. Cheers for the info pal
  23. Also got standard shocks and springs in good nick. £60 for all four.
  24. I've got numerous bits for sale at the moment having a bit of a clear out. 4x impreza wagon doors in black with door cards, few marks but nothing bad at all. £80 2x standard tmic slanty type.£15 each Wrx auto gearbox with torque convertor etc. £90 jdm wrx engine coil pack type in ok condition. Leaky rocker on passenger side but comes with rubber gasket. No coil packs turbo or ac pump. £150 2x Green label maf sensors. £20 each Green label Idle control valve. £15 4x subaru 5 spoke 15" alloys with good tyres. £90 Auto rear diff 3.9. £30 Decat up pipe. £35 Decat down pipe.45 Postage can be arranged.
  25. Its a 94 jdm wrx with td04 (used to have td05). Not sure how to check injector colour (I can only see grey connector) it did have a v5 ecu but looking online it was only ever used in the auto so I changed it for the 7d with the chip yesterday. Only thing that is different is the vacuum pipes which are cheap blue silicone ones with no restrictor pill. Standard headers and up pipe with decat from turbo back and hks induction kit and bailey bov and boost guage. That's it for mods. Boost goes over 1bar when giving it some then drops off but obviously hits fuel cut as well. Idle control valve cel light crops up from day one even after changing the engine and icv. Bit of a nightmare car haha
