Geneva show - Subaru Levorg
http://subaru.co.uk/concept-cars/subaru-levorg-concept/ This looks promising, based on the wrx. It will be interesting to see what engines we get if it is uk bound, hopefully we will get the 2 litre turbo direct injection motor that's in the US wrx

another new part
Nice. Are you gonna go for a remap then? My intension was to wait a few month then add a sports cat and downpipe to go with my cat back and get it mapped but I've had an ecutek dealer say it won't void warranty as there's no way of telling it's been done however my dealer has told me that adding anything more than the cat back would void warranty and if there was any problems they could tell it had been mapped because the calibration code on the ecu changes. With this in mind I don't know if I should do it until the cars at least a couple of year old.

New to subare from west cumbria
Well I've been on here since January now but haven't posted an intro as I wasn't officially a Subaru owner until today. So just picked up my wrx sti and took it for a good blast from Carlisle up to hartside then along to barnard castle to get a feel for the car on some real fun roads. I'm really liking the car so far it looks great and only seems to make sense when you start to push it a bit. I've already got a milltek cat back on it so she sounds great too. Looking forward to spending a bit more time in the car and getting a few more miles on it to loosen it up before I give it some abuse. In the past I've had a few golfs and an old bmw 328 coupe, I really liked my mk5 golf gti I had a few year ago but I think I'm gonna like the Subaru even more. If there's any meets or anything up this neck of the woods let me know I might come along for a run out somewhere. Would be great to get a few scoobs on a blast over hartside. Here's the new baby on her first day out

I read somewhere else that most of the 2.5 issues were on the sti's anyway. Is there anyone on here had problems with a 2.5 wrx?
-

Well is a 2.5 properly rebuilt not just as reliable as a 2.0?

No when they changed the tax rules and got shot of the tax disc last year they introduced paying for your in 12 monthly payments by direct debit. It's actually cheaper than buying 2 lots of 6 month but slightly more expensive than buying 12 month outright

Softens the blow a bit now that you can pay for the tax monthly

I can't understand how the bands go from £285 to £485 then £500 surely the £485 band should be somewhere more in the middle of the other 2 prices.

Oh wait I misread it the same rule applies to sti's I thought all cars over 255 CO2's were £500 but that's not how it worked

Yea just read up on it to make sure a wrx would be either £285 or £485 depending on whether it was registered before or after that date but an sti 2.5 hawkeye is a filthy polluting car :) so it's £500 no matter what

Not all 2.5's are the higher tax. If you can find a 55 plate or 06 hawkeye they are £285 it's to do with emissions so if they still sold a 2.0 turbo in the UK in 2007 it would still be £400 plus to tax

New wrx sti on long term test in evo magazine
Not a bad job these magazine road testers have got :)

New wrx sti on long term test in evo magazine
Well I'll be keeping an eye on the mag to see how they got on with the car. So far they haven't had much good to say but it's only the first month so hopefully when they get a decent drive in it they will rate it a bit more.

I think you need to test drive a couple of them to see if you would be happy with a non turbo model. I had a go in a 2.0 sport a few year back and it wasn't fast by any standard but did feel planted in the bends.

2015 sti aftermarket wheels
Just seen the new pics it looks well on them you must be happy with it. They go really well on a black car as well

That black one seems expensive to me.

Do the job right and make sure you get a turbo model :)

New to the Jap scene
Yea the milltek is dear on the new sti it's £1250 for the cat back and nearly another grand for the downpipe and decat. The new model has too back boxes so that will add cost over the hatch version
