  1. Hi guys I’ve done my usual searches and I’m hitting a brick wall. I’ve a 2004 Legacy gt twin scroll which has 316mm discs with 2 pot callipers on the front. I’ve found spec b 3.0 callipers online and I was wondering does anyone know if they are definitely compatible. The seller says they are the same and he seems like a really good guy but it’d be great if anyone could confirm. Thanks as always
  2. Hiya mine are 2 pot with the pistons on the same side. I know my fronts are 316mm as I've changed them but I was hoping someone had a definite spec. I've found a page elsewhere that looks like their right with their figures but just wanted to confirm.
  3. Think these are the same company. I was hoping for something like the first pair on this page. Grooved and coated with pads included. Any chance these would suit? https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/subaru/legacy/2.0-(BP5)-2003-2010/49502
  4. Hey bud good chance info is the same but mines not the gt-b it's the 04 new shape GT wagon. Very hard to get definitive info on this generation ☹️ Mine didnt get the brembo pack pack but I know my front discs are 316mm.
  5. I had a similar issue with a legacy 2.0r 2007. I reset the ecu doing the 40 mins of turning on and off the engine in certain sequence definitely helped. For the sake of 40 mins and no cost it's worth a shot. How to is on you tube.
  6. I've had discounts from national and international that worked in IRL so probably should. They do make a drama about it when you try to use them but it's a fear of their !Removed!!!
  7. Hi guys hope you are all well. I've searched online and the forum but can't find the info I'm looking for so hopefully you guys might know. My car is the following: 2004 Jdm legacy gt wagon, bp5 ej20x 2l twin scroll I normally get my discs and pads from import car parts and the guys there are great but I'm looking for a disc that won't rust so bad. Ideally I want some EBCs but the guys that sell the ebc just have info on the GT. So my question is does anyone know the the brake spec (diameter, thickness etc) front and back for the above car? thanks
  8. Hey Scoobyghost, you are echoing my inner thoughts. I have an excellent history since 08 as the previous owner did all his work in a main dealer (his poor wallet) but the history before import is all in Japanese!! I've read it's 105k for the 2.5l so I'm sure it'd be no harm to do it early especially as the kit is cheap. As for the water pump I agree. Every time I did a TB in an mx5 I always did the water pump I just wasn't sure if the GT was the same. Thanks for the input.
  9. Hi guys, ive been searching this forum and others to no joy. I've a 2004 JDM Legacy GT 2.0 with 90,000 miles. I can't find any history of a timing belt done in the records. Does anyone know the belt intervals on the 2L turbo? Also do people mostly change the water pump at the same time? Thanks as always.
  10. As usual your a legend. Thanks a mill guys. Now all I need is some time off work to drive her!! By the way, while I have ye. The silver part of the front grill is cheaper badly. Anybody know any tricks or do people just replace the whole unit?
  11. Haha here's her photo shoot pic
  12. Thought I'd update all you guys as ye were a great help last time. I found my GT..! it took nearly a year but I got an 04 Gt with 89k miles on it. In mint condition inside and out and serviced at main dealers etc. Picked it up for half what they make in the UK so pretty happy. It's only got one issue. A warped front disc I'm having trouble sourcing discs. Can anyone advise where I could by discs for a jap import 04 GT estate. Any help much appreciated.
  13. Haha I probably would enjoy the GT more alright. I've just been watching GT vs 3.0 on YouTube. The acceleration looks unreal on the GT.
  14. I'd actually prefer the 3.0 as it's not got the turbo so one less piece of kit to maintain, also there is ab good version near me for sale. Down side is the crazy road tax. Currently the 2l or 2l turbo are €700 per year to tax, the 3l is €1400 I think. Good old Irish tax system :(
  15. Higher in fuel consumption, is that possible!! The current one is thirsty as it is but it's an automatic and the lag drives me nuts. As for insurance, €8 more per annum, I too was shocked at that but I've a long ncb. I did look at the usual car sites in the UK and the GTs were rare enough. I guess the price is part of it too. I can get a very good in crashed get for 6k dollars delivered to Ireland from Japan. I think most of the GTs I saw in the UK were nearly 10k. It's a lot for a weekend car. I already have a weekend mk1 mx5.
  16. Hi guys, I've had my 2007 legacy estate 2.0R for 6 months now. I originally came on here for advice and half said don't touch it and half said go for it. Well after 6 months I've only put brake pads on it. It had high mileage and was a little worn from family use but I have absolutely become a legacy wagon head! I only use the car at weekends and every time I use it I enjoy it. It handles great, it's comfortable, it has loads of space and it looks great. That said..... I'd love the GT. I'm tempted to bring one in from Japan as there are none in Ireland. What are people's feelings and experience on a 2004 GT estate with 113km on the clock. Will it be as comfortable, will it be as good on breaking, what should I look out for Ns am I crazy.
  17. Cheers widesam. I have the GT I want picked out already!!! It gives me something to work towards, plus in 12 months time I should get my money back on this and be learning more and more about the legacy. For a standard 2 ltr she can move!! ;)
  18. Well the GT is going to be the car outside the door in a year or so but there are so few of them in Ireland that I'll bring a white one in from japan. Though I really appreciate ye're advice guys I took a chance. For the sake of 2k sterling I got the 2.0R. I am now a subaru owner all be it the old man version until I can get the GT with a hitch for the horse box!! I know the photo is bad but it gives you an idea of the car. Looking forward to many years of legacy fun.
  19. Thanks for the welcomes and tips. Well I looked at one Legacy estate 2004 standard petrol 2.0 and I have to say ok the power was grand but the right comfort, the brakes, the control was just what I was looking for. I am converted. As I say I have a 20 year old mx5 with 100km on the clock and it's bullet proof so I think a legacy will compliment this nicely. Now the tough part. As pickings are slim I debated a jap import but the euro is very weak at the moment. I have my heart set on a 03-07 white estate 2.0 GT. That's the dream car but the reality is this might just be the wrong time value for money wise. Last year I'd get 1.4 dollars to a euro, now I get 1.07. So do I compromise? An 07 2.0R has come up for 3k euro with high miles. 160,000 miles on the clock but she is clean and looks unamused with a 2 year mot. Should I be concerned about the high miles or at that price is it worth the gamble. It is the R spec so has slightly more poke. It's a trade sale with no warranty though. I'm thinking if the service book is stamped and I can see what's done it might be the car for me until I can import the one I really want. Your thoughts on this purchase would be greatly appreciated guys. Cheers.
  20. Thanks guys, I've been lookin through the forum and there's some great info here. I'd love the turbo model but there is so little choice over here. I'm thinking of starting with the basic, then getting addicted and wanting more!! By this time tomorrow I'll have had my first spin in a scoob, granted a tame one but it's a start ;)
  21. Hi all, I'm looking at getting into the world of owning a legacy. I'm looking for a car that's Japanese, estate for the dog and fishing gear, comfortable yet a little fun and can handle poor country roads. After looking the Legacy seemed to be the best option. By day I drive a work van and at the weekends I have. Mk1 mx5 so between all three I should be covered for every eventuality!! I'm looking at purchasing this weekend, can I get some tips. I'm going for the 2ltr as the road tax in Ireland is very high. I've a choice of auto and manual, both I have my eye on are the 2004 estates non turbo. Any feedback at all would be much appreciated. Thanks Eoghan
