  1. Rats, I'll be "darn sarf" that day, and won't get back till late. Have a good one, them what's going.
  2. Cheers for that, will have a look at them.
  3. As far as the dealer is concerned, it would be OK to fit a sporty exhaust to the XV, from the cat back, as long as it does not delete any sensors (got it in writing!). That way, my warranty would be retained. Anyone done this, or know of any suppliers? I have a stainless steel exhaust manufacturer near here (Huthwaite, Notts), who can make up a back box, but a dedicated one would be preferable.
  4. Had a trip to Megs pace at Luton (?) a few years back, with the Citroen Owners forum, where they did demos of their products. The waterless cleaners do work well, but I suspect only any good on a "clean" car, to give it a spruce up on arrival at a show. If the car has too much mud or bird crap on it, you might find it hard work, and get a streaky finish. Makes an ideal lube for a clay bar, though!
  5. No probs! I spoke to a few people, and took a few photos. Being a Southerner, I am naturally slow to mingle!!!
  6. Thanks for the tag. Kept the plate quiet, as some people think its a bit OTT - but my car, so my rules! Will try and park in the middle next time, as I was a bit isolated at the entrance. Must also see about a better exhaust (warranty permitting!!!).
  7. If I can bring my XV, I should be available. Now, showing my ignorance - where is it? Is it the workshop address?
  8. Just put some pics up in the gallery (Vixen). The only extra I went for was the spare wheel, which has raised the floor a couple of inches. My Kia Venga has a two position floor, and with it in the high position, the boot space is roughly the same, but with a hard parcel shelf, so no give. With the floor in the lower position, on top of the spare, it adds about 8 inches depth. XV does not have this facility, so, to me, the boot space is smaller.
  9. Ha ha, sorry folks, I am in fact enjoying it sooo much! Will take out tomorrow, and get some pics done. Car is fantastic to drive, and only got caught out once by the engine turning itself off at traffic lights - forgot it had that fitted. Shame about the small luggage space, but coped with family shopping, so that's OK. Lots of drooling from neighbours, especially the bloke who got a BMW company car on the same day - and had to have it trailered back to the dealer yesterday! Sunroof put to good use, along with the DAB radio. Will need a coupe of weeks to work out all the controls - manuals like War and Peace in size.
  10. Call from dealer this morning - car is in and having PDI, and I can pick up Thursday. Can I last out three days???
  11. Might be available, if the XV decides to arrive!
  12. All current Kias have electric steering, and the latest ones have buttons to select a range of "feel", according to personal preference or driving conditions. My Kia has just the basic electric steering, and feels great. The C4 I had before was the same.
  13. The above replies show just why I have chopped in my Kia for a Subaru XV!
  14. Ouch - £388 with postage, then have to get it painted and fitted. Will leave it for now, I think, and spend the money on a noisy exhaust! :o
  15. Hyundai it is, and will help to keep my mileage down, to keep within the PCP mileage limit of my XV!
  16. It will be the petrol CVT, which has a 1200Kg limit (less for 80% calculation), so it will only be a small caravan. Looks like it is the g/f who will be getting a towbar fitted, as her wagon is much heavier and bigger
  17. Does anyone tow a caravan with their XV? What does it tow like? Thinking of rejoining the mobile roadblock brigade, and must decide on using the XV (when it arrives) or the girlfriend's Hyundai.
  18. Got a call from dealer today - it's on its way, and should be here in two to three weeks. Also told that it would have electric adjust on the driver's seat - whoopee!
  19. If you are involving Trading Standards and are after a full refund, do not do anything to the car. If it slips out you have tried to do any repairs yourself (or other repairer), you will be deemed to have accepted the car and its faults. If it is as bad as your describe, and all these faults were not obviously visible when you examined it, you should be OK for money back, but may have to go through small claims court, if they don't cough up. TS might investigate any false statements, but don't usually get you your money back.
  20. The Yanks have some alternative colours. They have the khaki, which just looks like magnolia to me, but they also have the bright orange. Would I be brave enough for that????
  21. The brochure I was given (printed 2014) for the old one, listed Satin White, Ice Silver Metallic, Venetian Red Pearl, Quartz Blue Pearl and Dark Grey Metallic (which looks almost black in the brochure).
  22. What do you need it for? Might be worth letting local Subaru dealers know what your want, in case they might get in a beaten up trade in, which might suit you better. Saves all the hassle of importing, and you get to see the car before committing yourself.
  23. No probs. Gone for Venetian Red, as I can't be doing with silver or grey cars, and have a blue car already!
