Unfortunately a week after buying my forester the bottom end developed a large knock so I bought another motor and left it on the drive to rot! I intend to strip the engine down see where there is damage and if possible repair. I have a feeling it might be terminal as when checking the dipstick it was coated in metal filings. We will soon see when I get a chance to split it

Alright chaps, got myself a forster turbo the other month spent a fortune on the car buying bits new. recently landed myself a job in one of the biggest breakers in the UK. My turbo is whining pretty loud and also surges under boost. Not good at all when going for an overtake. long story short will another turbo bolt upto my 2000 forester turbo? Not many foresters but have all sorts of other brands and models. Or could I use parts from another turbo? Have access to most cars to be fair after something to just bolt up but if you recommend something better could mooch a few more bits. Cheers In advance

Sorted the rad, managed to get one from Andrew page. Now I've took it to have the clutch fitted a transmech one. Really wanted an exedy clutch but I quickly found out most are replicas. I've taken it into a local clutch and gearbox centre and they've rang me saying they've had a nightmare with the release baring saying it won't clip on? Don't know what this means buy they're blaming it on the poor quality clutch. Should I bite the bullet and fork out a extra £200 for an exedy?

Mr B, it's a manual but could I use an auto rad? And no I think it's just down to rpm doesn't seem tranny related

Cheers pal, don't think they're open till Monday but ill give them a ring then, Had a brief look on there site and can't find anything for a SF rad.. buy would there be anything else I can get one off if all else fails.Another picture for good measure

Hello chaps, glad to be the member of a new forum, bought my first subaru, a 2000 forester turbo. Needs a little work, it wants a new radiator. bit where the top coolant pipe connects has snapped off. But no motor factors seem to be able to get hold of one for me. What other cars could I get one off? Does it matter about turbo? Or could I have an impreza one? I know u couldn't use an auto one.. or could and just not use oil cooler.. Also the clutch is slipping quite severely but I will get this sorted in a garage as I have already bought a transmech clutch, was after a exedy one but apparently they're all replicas unless you pay like £300 Last thing, the car whines really loud with increasing rpm, even in neutral Gear. Any idea what this could be? Sorry to bombard you with questions. Thanks for any replys
