  1. That was my fear. Ah, shame :( Oh well, that's the ends of that trip. Was a good one! Thanks :)
  2. The Newage headers are actually in 2 parts. The up-pipe is separate, otherwise, I agree, this concept would be dead in the water. I think the only issue is the alignment of the three bolts that fit between header and exhaust... Oh, and of course losing a Catalytic Converter, but that's something I'd test once I knew the headers fit.
  3. Bumping this! It'd be nice to have an OEM way to give the n/a's that scooby rumble.
  4. They changed from 5x100pcd to 5x110 from the Hawk (turbo models only ), and haven't gone back AS FAR AS I KNOW. So I can't use the STI wheels (or brakes) on my n/a, but I can use bug/blob parts. Yay brain mush!
  5. I have been so tempted by a set of these recently. I assume they'd fit on an n/a Hawk. How much do you want for them?
  6. There is also the factor that HIDs in Non-HID compliant Lamps (if it ain't factory, it ain't allowed) is an instant MOT fail from a couple of years back. Just a factor to consider. There are many Halogen lamps that have a cooler/bluer colour if that's what you're looking for, and if you want brightness, I've seen 70W lamps which shouldn't cause you any negative effects. 100W's are a risk as they get very hot and have the potential of melting.... more than your headlights. This is all from my VAG scene modding, so idk what may be different on the Subarus, but just some words of warning ☺
  7. No is the short answer. The longer answer is: Mixing brands and specs is rarely advised. It may create resonance simply through different types of rubber, however this is aesthetic, rather than safety oriented. As far as safety is concerned, the speed rating is an upper limit the tyres are rated to and, unless one of them is below the national speed limit/the speed you're planning to drive at, you'll notice no difference.
  8. They're Equal Length, and I'm looking for OEM parts to make up an OEM exhaust, basically. Thank you though.
  9. There's no easy way to say that without making it sound bad. ANYWAY. Some of you may have seen this thread talking about fitting UEL headers to n/a scoobs and the last post atm is me finding out that the Hawkeye n/a's have a different exhaust to previous years, meaning the higher trim UEL header may bolt straight on. So, is there anyone around London/South East that would have a set of UEL headers I could borrow for a test fit? With the possibility of buying if they fit, if it's something you need Someone must have some lying about somewhere x)
  10. As Savage Bulldogs said, did a little digging and it seems Borla do make compatible headers. That said, I'm sure there are cheaper and more OEM ways to achieve the same result. For clarity, could those interested post up their engine codes? I'm thinking a bit of digging may be in order, but if the 05+ MY have different ports to >05, it's a waste just for that 2(3) year model. _________________________________________________________ Edit: My concerns, it seems, were well-founded. There are 2 types of exhaust, the first 00-05 (as far as I've seen) http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/en_g11/type_35/exhaust_system/exhaust/illustration_1/ The second (05(6)-07): http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/en_g11/type_37/exhaust_system/exhaust/illustration_2/ Now. For me, with the later exhaust, it seems as though I could just take an exhaust from a Turbo model and it will bolt straight on. I post this here so that you can confirm or argue that point. The second observation I made was that the mid pipe back seem to be the same. SO for those with earlier models, would it be possible to buy a newer pipe (part 10 in the lower picture), bolt it to your existing back pipes, then, assuming OEM UEL headers fit, just relocate the 02 sensor to the rear cat and be done with it? This is on about an hours earnest digging, so by all means shoot holes in it. _______________________________________________________________________ Edit 2: For reference, here's a Blob WRX Header http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/en_g11/type_13/exhaust_system/exhaust/illustration_2/
  11. Ah okay. Yeah, it's the 05-07 model Hawk. See, I have friends who are good with fab and welding, so extending/modding the exhaust end isn't the end of the world. It's the head fitment that I was most worried about. If all the Newage 2.0's have the same exhaust ports, it should be easy enough to adapt it across. Just grab some headers off a breaking car. But yes, finding out the brand of the headers you know fit would be very helpful :)
  12. Hey Gem. Interested in what headers you got? Are they a cross-fit from the Turbo models or do you have to go aftermarket? Seriously wanting to give it a go, but worried about fitment, especially on the block end.
  13. Fab stants, thank you. I'm sure fitting can't be that hard. It's a shame there's not a resource that has the measurements of the parts so one could compare and see if the parts are compatible.
  14. Afternoon all! Had my R Sport a while now, but never found this place, weirdly. Got a (probably repeated) question regarding swapping out the EL headers with UEL's; namely: Does a straight swap from one to the other overly affect driveability/MPG/power output? I say overly because of course it's going to, but what effect would it have? And of course, is it a case of pulling one off a scrappy turbo or do I have to find an aftermarket one? Ty all, and have an old pic of when she was a much lower mileage and much shinier.
