  1. Hi, I own a 52 plate Impreza wrx, totally standard, 75k miles. The problem is when I change gear and cut off the throttle and depress the clutch the revs increase by 200 to 500 revs before dropping, I have heard it could be a sticking ( idle control valve ) or the ( neutral position sensor ), has anybody else experienced this and if so how did you cure it, this is really annoying and I would love to stop it. Any explanations to why it does this and advice on fixing it will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, a fed up wrx drive.
  2. Hi, I have noticed that when I cut off the the throttle when changing gear the engine gains 2 to 500 revs before dropping, this happens when you change gear at either low or high revs, is this normal on turbo Subaru's or could it be as I've been told a sticking idle air control valve, if it is a sticking iacv can these be cleaned or is it a replacement job, I would appreciate any advice on this and thanks in advance, Andy.
  3. Thanks Alex. Its one of those do I, or don't I.
  4. Help... Could you please tell me whether or not aftermarket Dump Valves would harm the engine on my standard Subaru impreza wrx, I have heard so many people saying different things I just want to know for sure, thanks andyman.
  5. Hi, my name is Andy and I've joined the Subaru impreza owners club because i have recently purchased a Subaru impreza wrx bugeye on a 52 plate, as you can see from my profile i am a mature driver and i like to think a sensible driver, i purchased my Subaru from a 60ish gentleman who had it from new and it has 71k on the clock and a full 12 stamp Subaru service history, the previous owner said that whatever it needed it got I have got all MOT's and receipts for work done by the Subaru garage that did all the maintenance and MOT's on it, the car is as standard as when it came out the Subaru garage when it was bought new and is in Prestine condition, I'm looking forward to getting to know members and any advice and tips from them will be appreciated. Thanks Andyman
