  1. I doubt it's the air con plug since the air con works flawlessly.
  2. Yes it runs but takes a good 5 seconds to start up.
  3. Haha, cheers for identifying 1 part. What is the point of a boost solenoid?
  4. I recently bought a WRX SL 2.5 UK Spec on auction. It has been swapped with a EJ20 motor, not sure what one (guessing it's the 205). I have a a few sensors and wires that are not connected and would appreciate it if you guys could help me out. This is the first connector that I don't know what it was/should be used for. It is located by the battery. This is another sensor that is located towards the front of the engine by the oil cap. I also have this weird contraption just above their air filter, I have no clue what it is. And the final plug is this pink one. And I have a picture of the engine if that helps.
  5. What's the best company you guys have found, that provide a decent price, for the insurance for the hawk/sharkeye?
  6. Yeah, that quite insane if you ask me, I could get 3 WRX's for the price :P Yeah, I added my dad as a 2nd driver (No accidents have ever been his fault). I cannot have the car garaged as we simply don't have a garage but I selected the driveway option where it would be kept if I owned it. Max miles per year would be ~10k if I had to guess. As to the black box, I know it lowers you insurance if you are a good driver, however I am not a big fan of the idea something is monitoring me when i drive. I was also thinking of installing a tracker on the vehicle as I heard that it helps beat down the price of insurance, and the trackers don't cost that much. ~£200 to install and ~£300 for a 5 year membership. That's quite crazy, It's ~3x the value of the vehicle.
  7. I think I must have done something wrong, it surely can't be that much, right?
  8. RIP dreams of owning a Impreza as a first car :( That was for a GX Sport 05'
  9. Oh god, Just looked at the insurance. Only about 3x the value of the car... Total: £15593.72 That's insane you could buy a new used WRX with that money.
  10. What are the differences in them, I heard that the JDM one had a fully forged engine ?
  11. Also, It would be great if anyone could name the the differences in the UK spec and JDM spec cars.
  12. Appreciate it man!
  13. 1.2L I'm guessing, and that is going to be one of the lowest insurance categories, 2L Is gonna cost a lot more :(
  14. I can definitely understand that. Looking at some of the people that attend my high school, I would sh** myself being in their car.
  15. Any specific insurance company that I should look at?
  16. 5k a year? Is it really that bad for a new driver? I was hoping at around 2k top. I'll research more into this.
  17. Unfortunately, Insurance is the only thing that I have not researched and that's the thing that I am most worried about, as you said, It's probably going to be my biggest hurdle. As for having a hood scoop and a spoiler, I don't really care about it too much, I just love the overall look of the blobeyes. Honestly, I think the WRX looks better without the rear spoiler. The size of the car doesn't really matter for me that much, my dad has let me park and drive our 14' S-Max and that is quite a big car, I didn't really have any problems with that but I'll also take that into account. So, the only thing that I will have to look @ is the insurance prices for a young driver. Thanks for the advice, ScoobyGhost.
  18. Hey Everyone, I have just today signed up for this forum and I am looking for some opinions about the 1st car I would like to get. I have been wanting a Impreza ever since I was around 5. Currently, I am 15 (Yup, I know I still have 2 years until I can start doing my driver license) and I am wondering if a 2.0 Impreza WRX 2005 is a good 1st car? By the time I am going to buy the car, I will have probably around 90% of the money required to purchase the car. Hopefully my parents can fund me with the rest that I will need. (if not I guess I'll have to find an extra job during the holidays). Please do not discuss the money factor, just the car, the reliability and factors like that. So, Do you guys think a 2.0L WRX 2005 is a reasonable 1st car. I know many of you might say, a teen cannot handle the power of a WRX, but you can trust me that I am not one of them teens that will red line the sh** out of their car, just to impress their friends. Can't wait for your guys' feedback.
