  1. Shame, upgrade spray sounds amazing.
  2. Upgrade spray? You've lost me. It's. Got to be 6 speed really. Have to start saving. I'm not sure what power it will make, get some boost in it and see!
  3. I don't think that's really the problem. My personal view is the internals are simply not up to the task. Weak shafts and gears is what I think the problem is. But finding actual evidence of what breaks them is tricky, it's all opinion from what I see.
  4. I know I'm to poor to consider a 6 speed at the minute. I do like the gearing of the 5 speed though. Massive shame the only real option is a 6 speed swap. Hopefully the box lasts a little while at least. This modifying lark has gotten a bit expensive
  5. No that would be a silly idea haha it will have some parts fitted then be mapped. Then when I'm not so poor some more bits can go on, I dream of spare cash to buy a 6 speed at the minute.
  6. Not sacking off the scg, useful gauge to have in my opinion. Doubles as a boost gauge and an afr gauge. Also I'm on ppp performance at the minute, so 260 with the tdo4, not particularly fast although she handles exceptionally well. I don't think the 48 is a roller bearing, I'll have to double check this. I was going to make a list up on icp after work, as far as I know I'll need; manifold to Up pipe gasket ( ordering a harvey up pipe) up pipe to turbo bellmouth downpipe gasket and Two 3" zaust ones Do I need any for the coolant or oil lines or are they just copper washers? Cheers for the help so far guys
  7. I have a fmic, air filter, 3" zaust with decat, fuel pump, dark blue hawk injectors, forged rods and pistons and a super awesome innovate scg-1 . That should be sorted to 400, although I am on a 5 speed so won't be hitting that. If it doesn't work I'll have to sell it and get something else on. Just needed to know about the fitment for the snail incase I ended up waiting for parts.
  8. Mate was selling it and it made 400 on his 2.5. I know it's a different engine but surely it will be ok?
  9. Wouldn't it just be a tiny bit laggier than if it were on a 2.5?
  10. Hello, I'm going to be fitting a vf48 to my 05 wrx and wanted to double check some information. Firstly are all gaskets the same? Secondly I have read that the coolant lines aren't a straight fit. Do I need hatchback coolant lines or can the standard ones be modified? Cheers
  11. I have looked at them but i cant afford it really, if its totally necessary i will have to rethink but i would rather improve whats there as cheap as i can, without being a tight ****.
  12. I will have to talk to this alyn you speak off, seen his a few times today. Thats a good phrase, im gonna use that. I have read people just put a little bit more oil in? Also the wrx sump has a greater capacity apparently so on those long corners it would have more oil to pump until im out of the corner? Does anyone have starvation problems on track? Im having my engine rebuilt after a headgasket went so im trying to do reliability mods. Am i being to paranoid?
  13. Hello, i have a 05 wrx and have been looking at swapping the sump to an 06+ sti one, i hear they have better baffling and a better area for oil pick up. As i want to get on track i was hoping to prevent any oil starvation. Firstly has anyone done this? Also the oil capacity goes down apparently. So will less capacity and better pick up be any better than more capacity and the standard sump? Im also looking at getting a rcm baffle plate, however i cant afford a £600 baffled sump. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, cheers!
  14. Could be a good way to go, going to discuss options and prices next week. I already have 8 pot ksports up front, first thing i bought. Got handling mods sorted as well, just wheels and tires to get, but that can wait until it works again. My plan was to get it working and do turbo and what not when i have some more money. Do you think i will need a different crank? Say the 2.5 one?
  15. Also i did some googling and people seem to be saying the crank is pretty strong its just oiling thats the problem? Is this so? It would save me having to buy a crank.
