  1. Hi folks, I'm looking for a 2-bike rack to be boot mounted. I came across the Saris Bones 2 bike rack which according to the product manual is good for my model. Looking at the installation video though, it's done on a spoiler-less boot so I'm unsure if it will clear the wing. If anyone has the same model, which one did you get? I'd be happy to buy it and send back if doesn't fit, thought I'd save myself the hassle if poss. Cheers! Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  2. If I was more handy and had the space I'd give it a go. When I move my family into a bigger place I'll get my hands proper dirty
  3. Hey folks, thanks for tips. I haven't got the facilities to Jack the car up otherwise I would have had a go. I found a workshop in Catford(Rushmore & Hawstead) who changed the fuel pump, rotated tyres and sprayed waxoyl all for £82.50 which I thought was more than reasonable. I did get them to fit 2 new Pirelli Zeros as well which pushed the bill north of £300 though. All in all impressed with efficiency and service and would recommend them and Good Garage Scheme, through which I found the workshop. All ready for remap in January ( hopefully
  4. Hi Folks, I'm looking to get a couple things done on my Scooby and wanted to get a rough idea of what I should expect to pay before parting with my hard earned cash! 1.Tyre rotation 2.Oil and filter change 3. Replace and install fuel pump(I have fuel pump) 4. Spray on waxoyl for rust on engine sub frame I've had 2 quotes, one for best part of £ 300, the other closer to £200. Any comments welcome! 5. Will do bud. Might have to wait until New Year as in process of buying a house, but will keep you posted Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  6. Cheers bud.If I do decide to go ahead with remap, I'll be sure to mention this Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  7. Ok cheers for the help budSent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  8. I was wondering if you'd see a fuel saving. This assumes of course that you drive it sensibly...which defeats the object of upgrades in first place right?
  9. Stants, makes sense. Given that I've already put a Haywood and Scott downpipe and centre section exhaust that combined cost about £500, presumably putting a decat exhaust on would involve extra cost...? Would it be worthwhile decatting the front section and remapping? Would it still mot?Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  10. Been doing some thinking on remap options. All this has done is throw up some more questions! For example: if I get the remap done, surely unless I decat some/all of the exhaust sections, I'm not going to see the benefit of the added power generation from engine, unless I can more efficiently get rid of exhaust gasses? Sorry if stupid question, I'm a mechanical novice
  11. Another thought: how would mods affect my insurance? Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  12. And why wouldn't you have a cheesy grin, with a beauty like that!Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  13. Ok sweet, thanks. I better do some to pay for the mods!Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  14. I try my best not to drive like a hooligan. Also oil change regularly and use decent fuel to keep her clean. Glad to see mine is still a baby in terms of mileage compared to some folks! Haven't decided yet whether ill just do the remap and/decat path but definitely something worth considering, thanks. I live in Lewisham in London but use Dan at Surrey Subaru Specialists in Surrey, so heading back out there shouldn't be a problem. Are his contract details on the website? 15. I'm assuming it's Duncan at Racing dynamics you're referring to? Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  16. That makes more sense! Ok will get in touch with him and see what he says. Happy to trust your recommendation as you've helped me out before . Cheers Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  17. Cheers stants. Haha, and I think it's a well looked after 55k as well, so probably being over cautious. Just want to make sure it's the right decision. I use Tesco momentum, drive it hard occasionally and don't think mapping it is going to lead me to become a nut on the road
  18. Folks, I've got a 2.5 '07 wrx with 55k on the clock. Recently had k & n air filter and Haywood centre and rear exhaust fitted as an upgrade starting point. I'm considering a remap, but would like some advice from you guys before biting the bullet. Has anyone done a remap on a car that's done 55k plus? What impact will it have on engine life if driven sensibly( obviously occasionally enthusiastically) I'm thinking the obvious additional strain on drive train, clutch etc due to increased torque. Is it essential to upgrade these parts at same time as remap? If so, would it make sense to by Subaru performance pack instead? Realise many questions there, responses to one or the other much appreciated from this newbie. D Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  19. Quick question: when you say improves engine efficiently, do you mean breathing and or fuel economy? Sorry, tech dummy! Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  20. Hey folks, Recently had service on my 07 Impreza and one of the advisories was rusted sub frame that will need attention at a later date. He reccomended next time I come in, he would spray some anti rust material on it. Is this something I could do myself? Happy to get a jack and supports. If so, what product would you recommend? Thanks! Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
  21. Couple months back I mentioned I had a flat battery on an 07 wrx impreza. Long story short: bought a charger from halfords and was good to go for a few months. Got in car yesterday, flat as a pancake, not even weak central locking mech! Reckon culprit was drivers side cabin light but changed battery to silverline Yuasa anyway for peace of mind, as reckon battery was pretty tired and from original purchase anyway. Took car out for spin with new battery installed, got back, heard some crackling from alternator, no leak from battery. Anything to worry about or just new battery bedding in ? Thanks!
