I had that exact same sound effect on my car, just after I changed the front two discs and pads, after doing endless circles in an empty carpark (cuz it was driving me nuts) I identified the sound coming from the near side brake disc guard, (probably the wrong term) which is the thin plate of metal just to the inside of the disc, I just bent it back slightly with just my hand and job done! I have 2006 NA Hawkeye Sport Wagon GG9, I'm looking for SS back box, will a turbo version of the same year fit? There are loads on eBay listed as, among other things - as coming off; Classic, Blobeye, WRX (no year given) or Prodrive, or just "came off impreza" Aww bless um, but nothing listed for a non turbo version, as usual - any advise very welcome - cheers

PXed my old 2001 Classic Wagon Sport NA for a newer 2006 Hawkeye Sport NA, much happier a Turbo will have to wait another year or so, just can't justify it just yet Hill hold wtf ?!

lol in general mate.......was just having a rummage around on the trader last night and couldn't believe how much prices had gone up in the last six months. Used to be able to get a decent bug eye around £2.5k 6 months ago and a good blob eye for £3.5k......not a cat in hells chance now That doesn't help me much with my dreams of having Turbo one day [emoji53] Come the spring though I'll have to start looking seriously at selling my Sports Wagon Classic (my new toy and a great winter hack) and PXing my Suzuki Swift Sport (my once much loved main car) as running two cars is damn expensive! Hopefully I can get a half decent Classic 2000 Turbo or a Bugeye or at a stretch a Blobeye, can't be too choosy though just gonna have to see what I can get for the money. Got to be a Wagon though for my work and for the dogs too, bless um [emoji592][emoji189][emoji190][emoji252][emoji190][emoji252] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's a good call Gambit, Luckily the car's got FSH and the service book shows the cambelt was done at 92K, there are a ton of service receipts and MOTs so I've been pretty lucky with this one. I might do the cambelt again anyway just for farts and giggles, as I've never done one before - youTube vids make it look pretty straight forward and I'll know it's done for sure then.

Managed to change the Alternator belt, Cured the God-awful squealing noise coming from the power steering when on full lock, the old belt was cracked and really slack, it was looser than Nora Batty's stockings :o PS, how can I get rid of the text 'Attached Thumbnails' above my photos, seems a waste of space stating the bleeding obvious really !?

Thx tomobwfc - I've got these guys in my web-bookmarks now, they do some nice gear !

£449.95 f***k me, that's a set of replacement shocks on my car ! £15 for what you've got there is a no brainer mate ! Looks worth more than that too. My gear gaiter's shagged too, (119K miles wear & tear) so I'd need to do the same, among many other parts, where did you get yours from?

looks pretty nice to me, post installation before and after photographs, we'll see how good it looks then :D

Grats Gaulson, man-pad here we come [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, probably worth reporting it to the fuzz like tom_gr7 says, as they might of had a pop at a couple of other cars in the hood. They might have just been looking for presents or goods left in the car from Chrimbo. Effin sh*t kickers ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

At last, managed to service the car the other day. Oil and filter, plus I put some engine flush through it too as it's on 119k now, so needs a deep clean I reckon. Old oil filter was seized on like a !Removed!, so good old Halfords had an awesome set of oil filter pliers, totally brilliant !

Hi guys, Sorry - bit new to forums so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I did look but the forum archive is vast and it's like looking for a needle in a haystack especially as most peeps have Turbos. I have a 2001 'W reg' Classic Sports Wagon on 114K - It needs the suspensions replaced, as mine are shagged, it's like driving a bar of soap around corners ! Sooo - Will suspension parts from the same year WRX/Turbo2000 go straight onto my Sports Wagon? I've seen S/H shocks on eBay and I'm tempted to get them as they'll be cheaper than new replacements - this will be in addition to other stuff I can find. Finally - will the turbo stock shocks be generally stiffer than a Sports shocks ? Cheers guys - any help welcome

Here you go Michael85, I've spun your scooby around (see below) looking nice btw ! Looks like you've got the important stuff done so far, have you changed the oil and filter yet? I've recently bought a Sports Wagon as a project too, years after having a Sport Saloon back in early 2000s I always vowed I'd have another Scooby Done the oil and filter, needs replacement shocks (been looking for turbo shocks S/H on eBay, I'm assuming they'll go straight on ) there's a nock at the front, prob a tie-bar bush etc, plus one or both of the back wheel bearings are 'whining' slightly, so needs doing too but all good fun, as long as it doesn't cost too much Remember - If you sign up as a club member you get a Halfords discount card = 15% off most items ! (cycles only 10% off) so get your parts and fluids etc and get saving money Blud - BOOOOOMM !!!!!!!!

Anyone know if a set of 2002 WRX springs will fit on my 2001 classic sports wagon? I'm assuming they'd be stiffer than the sports stock ones? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice, what happened to it originally, got scratched up or summut?
-
Ok will try it cheers Gambit I wanted to put some engine flush through it this weekend but couldn't get the under tray off, I thought it was rare to see one on an older car then realized why, one of the bolts had seized, had to drill the f**k*r out! Then discovered I couldn't get the damn oil filter off either as that was seized on too, even with an oil filter wrench, Jesus I mean cummon! Anyways will try again at weekend will need to get a better filter wrench, one with a rubber strap not a chain, as they tend to tear into the filter.

Ok cheers Scoobyghost. @ Gambit, not especially at roundabouts just whenever you let go of the throttle to brake for example, the revs just drop till it stalls, sometimes it just bobblings around at a couple of revs, close to stall but mostly it will just stall. It doesn't happen all the time and it's only when it's between working temperature and cold, when it's relying on the auto choke I'm guessing.
-
Aww I see, no there's no engine light on the dash. The issue is it's started to stall. It starts fine and behaves it self but if I've just gone out for a short trip, stop to shopping for example, then get back in the car it starts fine but can't keep a revs up properly and stalls. I'm been trying to stop it from stalling doing toe-and-heel - very badly !! but when it's up to proper working temperature it's fine. Might be the auto-choke, or a temp sensor or some other dodgy sensor. Hence the need for an OBD2 scanners/reader :(
-
Yes it's a Classic but what do you mean ~ 'if you see the cel on' ? soz
-
My Sport Wagon's just started playing up, anyone used any of those Blue tooth phone app OBD2 scanners/readers? I'm thinking of getting one as they seem like a pretty good idea and may help me sort a few things out with my Scoob
