Hi I have had problems with intake air temp senser which I have replaced but still keep getting check engine light flashing on , not as regular and goes off within 10 second , I disconnected battery to reset ecu. Could air filter cause this problem ?

Tried to reset ecu but would.nt clear .was advised to disconnect battery overnight then reconnect and see if fault appears again . They seemed to think that ecu was really flagging old faults . Hope that makes sense?.

Hi could anyone advise. I have recently had the aa out to my imprezza 2.0l sport 1999 due to "check engine" light flickering .the aa chap said it was recording intake air temp sensor fault , I have changed the sensor for a s/h one but the "check engine" light is still coming on intermittently. Don't want to pay dealer price for a brand new sensor if it could be a wiring breaking down .anyone help?please

Hi I was wondering if a throttle sensor ever required cleaning, I ask as mine seems to be throwing up a engine check light ?. When my check engine light comes on if I rev engine it then goes out . I have also noticed that sometimes it is difficult to control low revs between 600-1000 rpm. Wondered if you remove sensor and cleaned it could this cure the issue. Other than this the car is running fine. Thanks .

There's no aparrant play on wheels at all.it just sound like somethings running dry.

Firstly thanks for your replies . When I took car into garage they road tested it themselves . Then put it on ramp & checked fluid levels +checked for play on wheels non found . I recently did a motorway run (about 15 mile each way , I felt the wheels all round car none of them were hot at all .I have tried coasting with car out of gear, no differance,tried lock to lock ,no difference either , guy at garage said leave it till it gets worse but don't want it to go all at once (you know it will happen when you need it most lol).I can't make my mind up if it's a diff noise or wheel bearing noise ,it's a type of dry running noise if that makes sense?.thank's

Hi I have a mk1 impress and it's developed a winning noise. I can't pin point where it's coming from had car to local garage but they can't find anything wrong . They have checked all transmission oil levels and checked for play in wheel bearings but are left scratching their head's .the noise gets worse with speed & at 60-70mph is drowning the stereo out . Any ideas what to check ?
