  1. Cool thanks mate, going to view this one at the weekend. Let me know what you think. I prefer this one proper sti and proper 6 speed box. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/subaru/impreza-sti/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-type-uk--low-miles--fsh--nicely-modded--stunning/5296314?v=b
  2. Yeah I'm looking for one that enhances that rumble. I love that sound. One of the main reasons I've always preferred subaru over evo. The noise is epic.
  3. Lol I'll go and have a look around it and see what I think. I dont mind if it needs a few things doing. I'll sort it myself. Looks great in red as well. It's got a Milltek exhaust system with the decat are these any good, love the sound of the nur spec exhaust will it sound similar. Thanks
  4. He's got all mot certificates so there won't be any hidden advisories it was motd on the 21st Jan. Looks really nice to be honest, never seen another red one. Bit put off by the cat d but it's only 7k anyway it can't depreciate much more really. Like the leather seats as well, coming from an r32 golf so interior wouldn't be as much of a shock with leather lol. If anyone knows of anymore for sale point me in the right direction. Thanks for all your replies.
  5. It was rear end corner damage apparently, the guy has all the receipts from the insurance and bodyshop for the repair. So should be OK
  6. Yeah that will be the first thing I change out lol. Looks like a victorian s*x aid. Are the 5 speed gearboxes strong, heard there a bit crap compared to the 6 speed. Especially with it being mapped up to 338bhp.
  7. Here is a link to the one I'm looking at. It's a cat d repaired which is a shame but spec looks very good. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/252286329021
  8. Its a 55 plate mate so low tax bracket. Are the 2.5s reliable heard that the 2.0 litre engines are much stronger.
  9. Went for a look at the impreza today. I'm going to give it a miss I think. There were no stamps in the service book since 2011, the guy said he'd had it serviced at local garages and they hadn't stamped it. Not so sure I trusted him with that one. He's also been driving it around untaxed for the last month or so. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Seen a nice hawkeye wrx sl in budget with sti upgrades. Anyone know if these are any good. I know they are a 5 speed and it's the 2.5 litre engine not the 2.0. Any help would be much appreciated guys. Thanks.
  10. I'm near Chesterfield in Derbyshire mate. Know of any round here.
  11. About once a year then for me sounds good. Also the sti is decatted where is best to take it come mot time
  12. Ok thanks for your help mate. I always warm up and cool down my cars even non turbos lol. It's a habit now, how often should I service an engine with this sort of tune and how often will the oil need changing, I will prob only do around 6-8000 miles a year if that helps thanks again.
  13. Yeah the anti lag is on a switch so you can turn it off, would get annoying after a while lol. Does look a stunning motor serviced 300 miles ago apparently by scoobyclinic. Think I'm gonna take a chance and buy it if it all goes to plan. How reliable are the highly tuned boxer engines heard a few horror stories about them going bang after a while.
  14. Thanks mate I'll be sure to check it over the seller has all the receipts for the work carried out. He's sent me a few videos of the antilag as well sounds mental, I'll add photos and videos as soon as I get it. Thanks for all the help guys
  15. Yeah looking forward to trying it out. Always wanted an sti one day. Had posters in my room as a kid can't wait to actually own one. now that I'm old enough to afford to insure one lol. Is there anything to look out for any common faults or just usual checks etc, also worrying about all the mods I know most insurance companies won't touch you with a car heavily modified.
