Hello mate might sound stupid. I did a really stupid mistake of when re assembling my brake caliper after overhaul.same things really bad pedal when engine running but ok when engine off. bleed system again and again. Only when i stood back and realised i put the rears on back to front. front calipers bleed nipples where on top. and found the rears with the bleed nipple underneath and not on top. rotated the calipers and bleed. all ok just check all calipers have bleed valves on top

Hey chaps, my newage wrx ej20 is burning oil fast and has bad compression. I have sourced an 96 sti short block with forged pistons and rods. I would like to use this engine as my base build. Am i right in thinking i can use this block. And use my Newage Wrx heads ? Finally got a good day to give a full clean. Managed to get undersealing done aswell which is a bonus :) Anyone else been cleaning today ?

im no expert on the forum and dont no any contacts yet. i am currently looking at a spare engine to rebuild so when my main engine gives up the ghost i can plonk her in. Problam is if you go second hand engine you could be in the same situation few months down the line or be lucky. maybe your best bet is to strip and rebuild mate at least its the peace of mind its been done and healthy.

Looking forward to doing it should be a good experiance and learning curve. Still havent got an engine yet so looking for a spare close to me. In the mean time get a shopping list up together. Gaskets,Shells,Rings timing belt kit,Water pump,Oil pump etc etc. Will have check on your build thread aswell in the meantime

Hey all hope everyone is well. At the moment im sourcing a spare ej20 engine as a replacment when the times comes to it to replace. As the scooby i have now is on 109k with no service history and was a gamble when i bought it.and she is not 100% The spare engine im getting will be stripped and rebuilt to how i want. I know my way around engines. but still this is my first time doing an ej20 engine and nothing is better than someone having knowledge and skill if you take it to a specialist. But i want to give it a go and see how it plans out. If it ends in tears i only got myself to blame . The reason for this topic is i would like to get some feedback as things to avoid doing and things to look out for and things to do when stripping and rebuilding these motors. I hear these engines are good for 300-350 stock internals ? im not after massive power but i might go down the path of slightly stronger internals. But im not going fully forged. I would be greatfull of any feedback chaps. Some people might say its not broke dont fix it. But I plan on keeping this car for a very long time and having fresh bits are always a bonus. Over a period of 8 months they will release a new main mission. So in my opinion your buying a game that is not complete. Like you said gambit i would wait till all the content for this title is released then buy.

I order a major service kit from scoobyworld. Previouse owner said cam belt been done. When servicing found a HALFRAUDS Filter and all plugs looked like the electrode had burnt away. Defo gonna check the cambelt

After a Drivers side front window regulator and motor if anyone has one. Failing that if someone is breaking a blobeye Black wrx or sti. I would like the drivers side door front. Cheers

Evening chaps hope all is well. Another fault showed itself yesterday being the drivers side electric window. It was intermittent then stopped working altogether and the window stuck half open. Today checked switch got power to motor but nothing. Had a real fun time trying to remove motor and regulator I kind of lost my temper when trying to remove the assembly and bent the regulator arms It would not have been a problem removing if the motor was sort of working and you could lower and raise to remove bolts that hold the window When the motor fails it makes it very hard to remove. Does anyone know where i can get a new regualtor and motor from ? there are used ones on ebay but i kind of want a new unit for peace of mind. However if someone is breaking a 2005 wrx and have a drivers side motor and regualtor thats in good condition let me know :) thanks guys

the turbo has had it chaps. Pulled the intercooler and pipes to turbo. Found a lot of oil inside compressor housing and intercooler.

Just purchased a service kit from scooby world 5w40 fully syn. There prices ain't to bad.
