With the hatch it puts the water out through the exhaust system so its not obvious if the hg has gone apparently got mine done for £1200,hope it isnt mate gl -
Check your seals on the header mate if its cracked or perished get it replaced asap i was losing coolant and it was to late b4 i realised it was comimg out through header only when under preasure got air in system blew top hose hg had gone but no obvious signs.2009 wrx hatch

Thats a thought you could be right there mate about the filler cap as i have put about a litre of water in over 2 weeks prior due to only slight occasional increase in tempa gauge and usually after having a play,should be back by end of week he reckons.i know where my eyes will b looking now when im checking my levels 😏
No,so it seems he said he did 1 the other week same symtoms.
Yes piggy after jason spent the afternoon working on the car he has confirmed its HG and is now on with fixing it,he said it most likly went when the pipe split ,unless you turn it off straight away which unless ur sat under the hood watching it would be impossible to know so hes on with stripping it now,im gutted.
So tonight after a short jaunt down the motorway the coolant dissapeared so car has gon for further inspection but its highly likely t be head gasket
Yes you were right anout the ingress,the seal on filler cap was brittle and only became apparent because of the amount of times i was removing it,ended up split in 3 so i could get the system pressurised but fingers crossed its cured

Update on original,so after hours of trying to bleed the system it turned out it was all in vein as i had a faulty filler cap seal,it had more splits than a bunch of eaten bananas so new cap fitted and all is well thanks for ur help guys.

Hi ppl starting to panic a bit now ,i have a 2009 wrx hatch and my top rad hose split the other day and after hours of trying to bleed my system,have been unsuccessful any advice appreciated thanks.
