  1. I am now the owner of a new WRX STi, so off to another thread now :-)
  2. Thanks, looking forward to hitting the road
  3. Car arrived at dealership today, pdi monday/tuesday!
  4. Looks great in black doesn't it. Happy polishing!
  5. @RichieT: Yes, the dealer quoted a Subaru approved upgrade that did not affect the warranty. Apparently it's an ECU thing. I will let you know when I find out more.
  6. Thanks RichieT. I visited the dealer today who mentioned a Subaru approved power upgrade (10bhp +), obviously I said yes! I wonder if any owners have the same (probably a stupid question) and if they have any feedback on things like torque, fuel consumption and insurance. And the extra grunt of course.....
  7. Richie T, do they come with satnav as standard? I didn't read the spec too closely and it is not obvious from the stuff available online. Thanks
  8. Thanks for the welcomes. Looking forward to a snowy trip to Scotland!
  9. Collecting the car next week so pics to follow. Thanks!
  10. I bought a new WRX STi in silver and just had to join the club. It's my second Subaru, the last one was a 2005 WRX which I loved. I sold it about 4 years ago but always vowed I would return to the brand. I like the good honest ruggedness of the cars and the pure driving experience, so I am looking forward to many happy years with my new one and some fun experiences along the way. First big trip will be a drive up to Scotland for Hogmanay, I hope it snows!
  11. A Subaru is unstoppable on winter tyres. I drive mine through deep snow past all sorts of stranded Mercs, BMWs and front wheel drive stuff spinning away their wheels and going nowhere. So for a feeling of smugness they are unbeatable. Add to that the safety implications of reduced stopping distances when below 8 degrees and there is a strong argument for them. The rally drivers would never do a stage on the wrong rubber so why would you drive your's on anything but the most appropriate tyres. As someone mentioned above, there is no guarantee of snow, but we can be sure the temperature will go into single figures for at least 4 months. I bought a set and loved them, sadly my car is gone but winter tyres remain. They are Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3, 215/45 R17 91V, tread depth as new and hardly worn. Give me a sensible offer and they could be yours for this winter. Collect from Bournemouth area. Alternatively someone sell me a really good WRX or STi pre '07 to put them on!
