  1. Right Top mounts checked, they seem fine, no excessive movement etc. So it seems everything is pointing to the drive shaft/s, going to get on with removing O/S first and check that for wear and damage. One thing I have noted about the rear ARB is that it is really rusty, the powder coat has come off and I am not sure if the diameter has shrunk due to the rust so I am going to replace the bushes first and hopefully the ARB wont need replacing, I am also going to replace front ARB bushes and drop links just for peace of mind as there is movement from the drop links but unsure if it excessive. I will report back once I have removed the drive shaft. Thanks all FB
  2. There should be a part reference number on the removed part. Have you got any bigger/better pictures? I have an RB320 so could try and look at mine and get part number, although my engine has been rebuilt by Cosworth.
  3. Hi all It is more of a knocking noise, but as the wheels go round it seems to knock, knock, knock, if you get my meaning? It seems to be more noticeable over bumps but does it when moving in a straight line and turning to the right. I will check the top mounts today, bottom ball joints checked and nothing untoward there. Thanks FB
  4. Thanks Savage Bulldogs The O/S mudflap was touching the tyre on full lock, I have removed this for the time being and retested - Still getting a knock when wheel straight and when turned to the right. I have had someone outside the car while turning and its certainly coming from the front O/S wheel area. The rear ARB bushes and drop link bushes are shot - the ARB moves left and right within the D bushes and the drop links move about. The front ARB D bushes are still tight but there is some movement from the drop links but not sure if this is "excessive play" or they are just moving as being poked with a pry bar!! Should there be any movement in the drop links at all? Thanks FB
  5. Thanks for your reply Stuartie I shall get on with removing the O/S drive shaft and report back my findings. FB
  6. Right Got a new centre bearing/carrier fitted, re-installed the prop and that seems to have solved the constant knock. There is still a knock coming from O/S front. From 1-10 MPH there is a constant knock, knock, knock, wheels straight and turning to the right, doesn't seem to be there when turning left and it seems to disappear when going a little faster, say 20 MPH. I have checked bushes etc. again and the ARB drop links seem to move around a lot, the rears are tight. I have been reading that the driveshaft CV joints go and this is the same sort of knocking noise. I have tried to move the driveshaft's in search of play and they seem to be fine, (tested on a ramp with wheels hanging down). Anyone got any views on this? Thanks FB
  7. Hi all I have an RB320 that has started knocking, it seems to coming from the front right (O/S) when turning right at slow speed. I have had it up on the ramp this afternoon and checked all bushes etc. for play. The only one that has play is the centre prop shaft bearing/rubber carrier, I can push the prop shaft up and it hits the floor, is this excessive play on these or is it supposed to have that much movement? Thanks in advance. FB
  8. Hi all Just joined as got an RB320 that has a knock. FB
