Think I might have seen that it wasn't for sale for long at all was it? This one was imported 1998 so has almost full uk history, every mot ticket since its been here, missing 2 tax discs I think, correct bitma certificate, receipt for a full api engine rebuild in 2006 and has done 22,000 miles since with a stack of other paperwork aswell so couldn't get much better on the paperwork side of things but I never got any kind of deal on the car had to pay top price for it as it was the only v3 type r for sale at the time and the boy fairly knew that. I think it will be in 5 years time the car will jump in value when its 25 years old and considered a classic. Nigel Gough from classiccarauctions has phoned me before the last 2 auctions they done asking me to put it in but wasn't giving me quite high enough numbers. I'm going to see about classic rally/Colin McRae tribute rally type shows aswell as I have him and Richard burns going mental in the late 90s in my head 😀 if in doubt, flat out!!!

Holy jesus! Theres definatley just as much love invested under your bonnet as their is cash that's for sure. Awesome set up there savage I thought my engine bay was clean but wow! Better get the cleaning products out before summer I think. Definatley setting the standard there like. The type r was bought as an investment firstly but I did consider modifying it a month or so after buying it because it annoyed me that much trying to find out information on it and got absoloutley nowhere. Glad I never though however I did think that by now I would have found someone with another original one. Your car must get loads of attention when its out being an older reg plate does it? Mine doesn't but won't be until April its out with the new registration on. My cousin said it looks weird with a small spoiler but I think it makes it stand out. Matter of taste and opinion I spose

Still a very rare car saved though, have you managed to find out how many there are left on the road today? I've gave up with the type r did send a freedom of information request to the dvla and got a reply a month later saying we've got no idea. any v1 sti will Keep going up in value regardless id think no? Is that plate available? I'd imagine it would easily be 10 times the price of mine if it is. Had a few comments from people saying the car doesn't look mean enough lol. Seriously understated car that's for sure.

Cheers savage got lucky I think I'm the first owner of the plate so was cheap considering every letter and number works for the car. Guess the v3 came and went before anyone considered plates. Just thought if there is heaps of them going about still it will make people look twice at it at least. Nearly bought P555 YYY glad I looked on all the sites first. Think I will give up looking for an OEM centre section and just get the resonator remade. Car is defiantly staying as original as possible still cant find another unmodified one.
-
Hi everyone, I'm looking for an original exhaust centre section for my v3 type r. any help appreciated, thanks in advance, craig

Somehow this plate wasn't bought 20 years ago, hopefully help the car stand out a bit at shows this summer

Cheers tidgy I've had the same problem asking people its ashame because the car has just became more hastle than its worth. The plan is to fix the few little niggles it has over winter and put it up in march after the mot possibly take it to a few shows. However if anyone on here has 13k to invest in what I would say is a very rare car then its theirs I can't b bothered putting it up and taking loads of phonecalls. If I didn't have to pay for storage/insurance etc I would be keeping it but I can make that space a lot more productive with something else. Car has certificate of authenticity and a stack of paperwork nearly full uk history. 4 years time I believe this car will be worth 20k and maybe **** a few people off on here but overall mechanically better than a p1 and possibly rarer (don't quote me on that 1 can't find numbers). Better investment than gold if you have free storage. A lot more to look at as well. That's about as far as my sales skills go I'm afraid so I'll check every night for posts and thanks in advance for any information anyone finds or for getting the word out.

Cheers tidgy apprentice it. 2 months I've been trying to get info on numbers/ rarity dvla has nothing either
-
Bridgestone potenza re010 tidgy? Mean anything to you? Way beyond me
-
Great thanks tidgy, only other problem is I can't find another one in the same condition. 79000 miles 3 owners almost full uk history and spent its whole life on the south of england until I bought it about 6 weeks ago. It was taken to an enthusiast who owns a garage and he said the only time he'd seen the underside of other Subaru's that straight was when they were new and advised me to remove the wax oil and put clear stuff on for sale. He also said it has the same make of tyres it would have had when it left the factory. I thought I was on to something with this car in the condition it was in but clearly not. Time to sell I think will end up loosing money if I keep paying insurance, mots, fuel etc
-
OK thanks everyone, might be an obvious answer but is that good or bad? I am still yet to find someone that can tell me how rare it is. I have been told a nearly full uk history is quite rare. Here's some pics

Hi everyone. I have a v3 type r as far as I was aware they were built to order for the uk market being the gc8 code. My car was manufactured 1997 and registered in Britain in 1998. Were they available in Japan as well or does anyone have any idea of why it would have been registered over there 1st. Thanks, craig. Pic of vin plate not sure if that helps

Sorry forgot the other thing I was going to ask was the other one for sale has the wrx decals in front of the back wheels and mine doesn't, I know a lot or them were taken off/put on by owners but does anyone know if that means anything? I have found both brochures and pictures of cars with and without these decals
-
Cheers savage. Aye prices are all over the place when I have seen them there is/was one in Spain for sale, looked like a p1 with gold wheels, had a stroker kit as well and the boy wanted 20k. Pretty sure that same car is now in Berkshire for 10k. And the v4 limited I seen was 14k. The other thing is I don't know what people collect I assume there are collectors of all the desired models inc. The rb5 etc? Surely these deserve a place in the line up. Anyone ever tried a shout out to uk Subaru drivers? See if a more accurate table can be produced.
-
Ah ok cheers Tidgy these cars are a minefield. I bought it as an investment with my inheritance and due to being poorly advertised Im pretty sure I have got a rare car. Anyone got siri or Alexa? Maybe theyl know how many are left seem to know everything else.
-
Cheers guys no question standard they're mechanically better that's for sure. I still can't find how many were imported and how many are left. Can anyone make sense of the how many left website? I think it was on there I saw there were less than half registered than the p1, however 2 mins later I was on a site that said only 1 type r and 1 catalunya was imported to uk in 1998. I'm guessing the type r would of only been imported once all the p1s were sold would it? Being built to order.
-
Cheers guys this car is a bit of a headache turns out, manufactured in 1997, registered here in 1998, and the only other v3 type r I have seen for sale was in Spain, quite highly modified and the guy wanted 20k. I have been told they are now regarded by some as better than the p1 due to the dccd but I have no idea how rare it is and can't find anyone that does know. I wonder if I send the vin number and a picture of the certificate of authenticity to Subaru someone could maybe shed some light on it?
-
Thanks. Does anyone on here have access to the amount of certain cars there are left? I'm not great with computers and keep finding different numbers about mine
-
Thanks. I am open to offers if anyone is interested. The plan is to take it to a few shows next summer though so would need to be serious offers from collectors as this car is an investment not a daily driver. 79000 miles, 3 owners, full service history inc. An engine rebuild in 2006 by api engines. Completely unmolested unabused car even down to the same make of tyres it left the factory with.
-
Thanks stants. Looks like it will be contents insurance. The car will be going to shows and for its mots and for that my mate will be getting it insured and taxed himself. Yeah no convictions just don't have a license and no intentions of driving the car either its an insurance policy I am making from my inheritance. Been told a few times I got the car at a steal price but my god some of the forums I read and arguments about chassis codes and theirs is a real type r wow!!!
-
Sorry forgot to say its pretty much mint low miles original but its not a classic yet is it? How are classic stored cars insured?
-
I was wondering if anyone could help me please. I have just bought a v3 type r as an investment and was wondering if it is possible to insure it sitting in my mates unit? It will have insurance to be taken out but that won't be often. I don't have a licence and am new to this so any help appreciated. Thanks in advance
