Evening all, my sat nav has given up on my 8 yrs old Subaru Outback. The screen reads "NOT MAP DVD" & is black other than that. The rear reversing camera works & radio works, although cant access stations. Can anyone recommend a fix? TIA Thanks Hazel
  6. Thanks Stants.I have asked @Dogconker their advice.Garage are quoting £1700-2000 for a new one & i dont think the car is worth that.
  7. HI, my subaru outback needs a DPF filter, someone suggested i ask you about forced clean out and dpf re gen.

Is this something i can do or a garage? i have been quoted £1700-2000 to get a ew one & my car is 7 ys old.

    Thank you in advance

  8. Thank you for your help. I tried tighteneing the fuel cap,it made no difference, unfortunately. I will try a DPF cleaner, see if that helps. I appreciate your input
  9. Hi, the DPF light has just come on on my 7yr old outback.Shortly afterwards the malfunction indicator lamp, vehicle control dynamics control & brake system lights all came on at once. It has done 78,800 miles & has had two new sets of glow plugs in 12 months,(second set replaced foc). The problem i have is my local garage doesnt have the full diagnostic package, the "Subaru" garage in Hexham, 18 miles away, is not actually a subaru garage & i have had issues with them (see glow plugs!!). SO, i need to travel to Newcastle, 40 miles away just to get diagnostics done at £80 a shot. SO, before i venture that far, can anyone shed some light as to what might be going on & is my car safe to drive in the meantime please? Thank you in advance Hazel
