Hi all,

My 2003 2.0 has developed a strange noise. It is a sort of buzzing noise that seems to come from the steering column. It is intermittent, lasts for only a few seconds at a time then stops. Sound a bit like a relay of some type....?

 

Has anyone had similar noises and has anyone got any suggestions as to what it might be?

It could be anything as theres so much located in that area, my guess is something not earth properly. Is the parking light switch on top of the steering column working properly ? Maybe try squinting some contact cleaner on it and flicking on and off.

Not sure myself new one on me that one. If it's an electrical noise id say the same as stants or the light around the ignition. But could be from the immobiliser.
