sandspider Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Hi all As the title says, I'm looking for a standard Spec B 3.0 Legacy estate of 2005 / early 2006 registration so it's in the lower tax band (£285 odd per year, not £500 odd). Needs to be manual, and with a good service history - ideally big bits like clutch and exhaust done. Ideally in the South West, but may travel for the right car. Budget is maybe £4,000 - but could possibly go a bit higher for something that's worth it. I don't mind reasonably high mileage as long as it's been cared for. I'm looking in all the usual places (pistonheads, eBay, autotrader, here) but just wondering if anyone has one they're thinking of selling. I'm in no drastic hurry. Any cars or thoughts, please let me know? Cheers.
tom_gr7 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 what about this mate. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-Subaru-Legacy-3-0-R-Spec-b-Tourer-Awd-5-door-Estate-/121348624306?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1c40f10fb2
sandspider Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Thanks Tom I see that I already have that one in my eBay watch list! However, it seems a bit pricey for the mileage to me. I'll keep an eye on it though.
tom_gr7 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 what about these two? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201412029388470/sort/default/postcode/ts274bf/engine-size-cars/3l_to_3-9l/radius/1500/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/model/legacy/price-from/1000/transmission/manual/make/subaru/page/1/usedcars?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201411209114829/sort/default/postcode/ts274bf/engine-size-cars/3l_to_3-9l/radius/1500/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/model/legacy/price-from/1000/transmission/manual/make/subaru/page/1/usedcars?logcode=p
sandspider Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Thanks again! The one in Aberdeen is high tax bracket, so not ideal. Nice price though. The one in sevenoaks is a bit more tempting. Top end of my budget (out of it really) but low mileage and I'll be in Kent at the weekend so will try and have a look at it. Are there any differences between the 2004 and 2005 year cars? I think I read somewhere that the 2004s had a head gasket problem that was fixed in 2005, but can't remember the details.
Boots819 ian Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 I've got a 2007 facelift auto with Si drive and paddle shift, love it , tax high but what the hell, good luck looking I'll see what's about in the trade for you.
sandspider Posted December 6, 2014 Author Posted December 6, 2014 Cheers chap, the more options the better! Viewing one in Sevenoaks on Monday with luck...
