I'd have though some parts was worth striping myself but depends on what the want for the buy back of the car. 

If others crashed in same strech of road I would say aquaplaning is very unlikely. More likely would be black ice and unsalted road.

But at least you came out of it relatively unscaved. Look at it this way you have just cheated Mr death of his payment. Not everyone can say that.

Although seriously if you could demonstrate that other cars did the same then there might be some comeback against the road operator
