Hello all... the wife's Outback 2.5i has gone tech... oil light on, then died... and we've not been able to start it since... 

 

I've flashed the starter... just a whirling, so it's not engaging... then popped a socket and bar on the crank nut ... and, well, it's knackered... can put my whole weight on it without moving...

 

Can I have some recommendations on specialist to rebuild the engine (120k)?... I'm based in Bristol and only just started looking around... had one quote already of £1,500 plus VAT and the fluids... seems a little spendy but hey... if that's what it is...

Could try giving api a call for a comparison quote. Sorry don't have the address but Google api engine builds
