February 10, 201510 yr does a 2004 sti impreza have a built in transponder to the key? im asking as im hoping nit so i can get new locks and keys. the current locks are difficult to open with the single key i currently have. otherwise i would just get a more cut thanking you
February 10, 201510 yr Yours shouldn't as it's an import think it only does the central locking and not much else you can buy blanks from ipc which are transponder less
February 10, 201510 yr I've the same style of key as yours plus a steel 2nd key which doesn't have anything to it, I've never tried to start the car with the spare, if you want, I'll try it tonight with the spare
