stants
Hello sorry, there's not many foz owners around here let alone anyone with an sti. the forester is basically an impreza with a slightly higher ride and body. The sti sits lower than the normal foz so if your not too picky about ground clearance no worries. They tend not to have had the same abuse as some impreza have as they are a bit more under the radar. Early 2.5 engines had problems not sure about the sti ones you'd have to Google it. Are you looking at fresh imports or ones already here ? A bike wouldn't fit in without the seats down, maybe just if you remove the front wheel. The gtb would be a bit older and a lot tend to be auto's as for performance they both have around 280bho standard, the newer foz would be easer to tune as you'd be looking at a map and a few other supporting mods will easily see 330 and a load of torque.
Mr B
I would also look at the xt2.5 ppp. Not much to look for really, good service history, clean oil, no piston slap, no signs of coolant loss or overheating & no body repair. sti tend be overpriced or less than perfect, xt2.5 ppp tend to be a steal & tend to be low mileage & unabused. Forester is more versitile over gtb, better resale market & far far better parts & service support options. A bike will go in back if wheel off but not the best for that, rear seats are split so can still seat people in back & a bike.
Tlag
As an owner of many twin turbo Legacies over a few years, I know the luggage space is huge. I think it's bigger than that of a forester. Having said that, for similar money as the STI Fozzy, have a look at a later twin scroll Legacy. The turbo system is far less problematic. The Fozzy has greater ride height than the Legacy but is slightly smaller inside. The fozzy also stands out visually whereas the Zlegacy is a real sleeper. benbeckid
Cheers guys I will keep looking for now. Just wondering if there's any worries with transfer boxes? And did they do a 2.5 legacy for the jdm. I like both vehicles , but boot space v ride height I suppose
Mr B
Boot space & ride height = Outback Best buys tend be Outbacks & XT Foresters as easy find almost perfect examples at very sensible prices.
