scottishtaffy Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 has anyone fitted stainless 4 branch, unequal lenght, and found the exhaust note to have sounded tinny? i have a full straiht thru 3in decat stainles system but had the standard cast headers on it. and it had a great flat four burble. but got a crack on the up pipe so though i would make the whole thing stainles by buying a 4 branch. but it sounds real tinny and is !Removed! real loud now. do i get a standard one to get the deep burble back on or would it make a difference by heat wrapping the front pipes? would that muffle the tinny sound and bring back the deep burble?
Gambit Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I think you would need to go back to the OEM to get the sound back mate. But would have thought you would get more power out of the one fitted now. :( 2
scottishtaffy Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 thats what i was thinking. think i will wrap it first and then see what happens
Gambit Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 won't do any harm worth trying 1st :) It's what I would do anyway.
scottishtaffy Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 watch this space will see if i can get wrap this week
Jay762 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The sound will change as the lumpy uneven burble comes from the headers being different lengths - having the same length headers apparently removes the burble and makes it sound more like an inline 4
scottishtaffy Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 it is un equal lenght headers on which is why i was surprized at the sound. it still has the burble just that its tinny sounding
