Barnsley John Posted September 8, 2015 Share Posted September 8, 2015 Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but I need some advice please. Last Friday my 2009 Forester D XC went bang on the way to work. I've had it recovered to a local garage who have had a brief look at it and seem to think it has spun a big end bearing. The engine runs but knocks and when turned by hand has a tight spot. There's plenty of oil in and I never got and oil warning light on before it happened. The car has 117000 miles on it. One way or the other it's going to be expensive so I'm thinking of locating either a second hand engine or a reconditioned one, can anyone advise me where I can locate one please?
