Just got my new Forester and trying to establish what is the sensor next to the info display.

 

I want to mount my satnav in front of it, but not sure what effect that will have !

Possibly something to do with the auto climate control. I'll have a dig around and see if I can get any more info

Actually my mistake, it seems not to be a sensor, but a warning light -  it's not very bright hence why I mistook it for a sensor.

I got a clue from the separate 'alarm system operating instructions' which tells it is the 'security system status indicator' but doesn't actually say where it is.

Therefore it won't be a problem if I stick a satnav in front of it since I always take the satnav off when I leave the vehicle.
