New to subaru what to check?

I have recently purchased my first scooby, it's a 2004 blobeye wrx wagon. It's got 112k on her and has never been modified apart from a prodrive rear box? Question is what things should I check over for a health check before I start adding more Bhp, want to make sure the engine is healthy before I do anything to her but not sure what common faults the subaru's have.

Make sure the belts and servicing are up to date really. As long as the engine is healthy with no knocks, smoke etc tune away!

The cam belt is first on the list and was going to do all oils and filters but still got to find out what's best oils to use yet, thinking 5w40? But not sure on gearbox and diff. Anything else to look out for on the boxer engine?

Check out Opie Oils online, lots of people use them and the prices are good. A decent 5w40 fully synth will be fine for the engine. The boxer engines are tough but can get rod knock if abused or ran low on oil.

The gearbox and diff need 75/90 and again any decent oil should do, different people swear by different products
